Police Blotter: Attempted Burglary at School

Also, cops caught a man with methamphetamine and a habitual thief was arrested.

Watsonville Police Log, Thursday, Aug. 2

4:42 a.m.—Officers investigated a suspected violation of a court order on the 300 block of East Lake Avenue.

1:04 p.m.—A burglar tried to steal computers from two classrooms at Mintie White Elementary School on Palm Avenue.

1:37 p.m.—A man stopped for driving with a suspended driver's license was arrested for having 3.1 grams of methamphetamine. His car was impounded from the traffic stop, on the 400 block of Rodriguez Street.

5:15 p.m.—A 26-year-old man was arrested for drug possession and giving cops a fake name after he was stopped for not following traffic laws on his bike. It happened on Hammer Drive and Arthur Road.

Sheriff's Office Log, Wednesday, Aug. 1

2:33 p.m.—A man was arrested for stealing a woman's cell phone on the 300 block of Union Street. He has a history of theft convictions.

No time given—Two checks were stolen by a woman's stepson and cashed. She lives on Larkin Valley Road.
