Police Blotter: Burglaries Booming

The following arrest information was provided by the Watsonville Police Department and Sheriff's Office. It does not indicate a conviction.

A rash of burglaries has struck Watsonville homes this week.

Police haven't said if the break-ins are related, but there have been eight since Sunday.

Wednesday, burglars hit a house on the 100 block of Riverside Drive in the early afternoon.

Sometime Tuesday, a burglar broke into a home and stole a TV and jewelry from a home on the 200 block of Silverleaf Drive. Also, $1,000 was stolen from a house on Lonepine Drive on the outskirts of town.

There were three daytime burglaries Monday: one on the 100 block of Jefferson Street and the 100 block of Landis Avenue within the city limits, then one out on Manfre Road, north of town.

On Jefferson, the burglars struck between 8:15 a.m. and 4 p.m. They got in through an open window and stole items. Police found fingerprints in the home. The Landis burglary happened between 12-6:30 p.m. On the 200 block of Manfre Road, the burglars came in through an unlocked bedroom windwo and stole jewelry, cash and a computer.

 In both of those instances, the burglars got in through unlocked windows.

1:48 a.m.—Loanna Lee Jordan was arrested for a warrant on the 100 block of West Beach Street.

Wednesday, Nov. 9

3:05 a.m.—Hector Fernando Cabrera was jailed for public intoxication. He was picked up on the 100 block of Riverside Dr.

3:29 p.m.—Juan Rodriguez was arrested for being drunk in public on East Lake and Brewington avenues.

6:14 p.m.—Gordon Weber, 55, was arrested for a warrant on the 100 block of Feliz Drive.

7:57 p.m.—An anonymous tipster turned in a teenager's paperwork that ID'd the boy as a tagger. He's put up graffiti around the city.

Tuesday, Nov. 8

6:08 p.m.—A vandal broke the grill and slashed a tire on a 2004 Ford Explorer while it was parked in a driveway on the 100 block of Marin Street. The damage happened in the past day.

6:30 p.m.—A car burglar shattered the passenger side window on a vehicle on the 1000 block of Santa Rosa Court. A cell phone was stolen.

6:41 p.m.—A cell phone was stolen from a bar on the 1000 block of East Lake Avenue.

Monday, Nov. 7

8:46 a.m.—Police investigated a gang-related weapons case on the 100 block of Ohlone Parkway.

Sheriff's Office, Wednesday, Nov. 9

7:30 a.m.—A window was shattered on a car on the 100 block of Laken Court.

Tuesday, Nov. 8

5:45 p.m.—Protesters and bystanders got into a shoving match at the fairgrounds.

7:45 p.m.—A car window on the 100 block of Zills Road was broken.

Monday, Nov. 7

8:08 p.m.—A window was shattered on a car on Cowles Road.
