Police Blotter: Burglary Suspect Caught

The following arrest information was provided by the Watsonville Police Department and the Sheriff's Office. It does not indicate a conviction.

A man arrested for being high on drugs reportedly told a correctional officer he'd been involved in a home break-in early Saturday, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Three burglars tried to break into a house Riverside Drive around 3:45 a.m. Saturday. Two screen windows were removed and one window was broken. Juan Jesus Rodriguez Sanchez was arrested nearby for being on drugs, deputies reported.

While he was being booked into jail, he allegedly told a correctional officer that he'd been involved in a burglary and was booked on more charges, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's Office Log, Saturday, Dec. 3

5 a.m.—Jose Herrera reportedly stole a large trampoline from a backyard on the 2200 block of Freedom Boulevard. It was worth about $1,200.

Watsonville Police, Sunday, Dec. 4

12:33 a.m.—Aris Perez, 21, was arrested for DUI and having drugs on the 100 block of Packard Lane.

6:56 p.m.—Marco Antonio Martinez, 24, was arrested for being drunk in public on Carey and Landis avenues.

8:41 p.m.—A burglar crawled in through a bedroom window and stolen items from a home on the 100 block of Santa Clara Street.

Saturday, Dec. 3

12:08 a.m.—Jorge Vargas was arrested for DUI after a car crash on Green Valley Road and Stewart Avenue.

9:06 a.m.—A vehicle was vandalized on the 100 block of Maple Avenue.

10:27 a.m.—Rocio Camberos, 29, was arrested for being on drugs, a probation violation.

Friday, Dec. 2

4:51 a.m.—Police ticketed Jose Rivas for driving on a suspended license. He was stopped on the 400 block of Main Street.

9:22 a.m.—A burglar smashed a window on a car parked on the 300 block of Clifford Avenue and stole an iPod. The theft happened on the 300 block of Clifford Avenue.

12:56 p.m.—Sylvia Ramirez was drinking a beer in the City Plaza. She told the officer she thought she had a warrant and got a ticket for it.

1:43 p.m.—A burglar broke into a house on the 100 block of Pera Drive and stole items. The burglar left a black cloth glove behind.

4:40 p.m.—A thief broke into a car on the 1700 block of Freedom Boulevard.

6:22 p.m.—Jose Angel Campos, 25, was arrested for being drunk in public on the 1800 block of Freedom Boulevard. He also had warrants.

7:33 p.m.—Three teens were arrested for gang participation on Ford and Walker streets.

10:36 p.m.—Leopoldo Santos, 56, was arrested in a parking lot on the 400 block of Rodriguez Street with drugs. He also was booked for a probation violation.

Thursday, Dec. 1

11:42 a.m.—Walter Olsen, 41, was arrested for a probation violation on the 100 block of Roosevelt Street. He also had marijuana and methamphetamine.

1:05 p.m.—Police found a loaded 12-gauge shotgun in Bryan Arce's bedroom on the 100 block of Hill Avenue.

4:44 p.m.—An unknown woman tried to cash a fake check at Wells Fargo. She ran away before police got there.

Wednesday, Nov. 30

7:57 a.m.—Alex Lozano was arrested for two warrants on Harkins Slough Road and Ohlone Parkway.

9:33 a.m.—A burglar damaged the exterior power boxes at a business on the 800 block of West Beach Street and tried to break in.

1:17 p.m.—A thief stole items from a truck bed. The vehicle was parked on the 2000 block of Freedom Boulevard.

1:22 p.m.—Jose Ochoa, 37, was arrested for a warrant on Maple Avenue and Marchant Street.

9:39 p.m.—A teenager was arrested for violating his probation on the 700 block of East Beach Street.

10:20 p.m.—Saul Zavala Bedolla, 34, was ticketed for battery and making threats for threatening to kill a 37-year-old man after a fight.
