Police Blotter: Burglary, Warrants and an Arson Case

The following arrest information was provided by Watsonville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Watsonville Police Log, Sunday, Oct. 9

1:04 a.m.—Eric Brecheen, 43, was pulled over on the 100 block of Aviation Way for driving a vehicle with expired tags. He had a warrant and was arrested.

5:36 a.m.—A car burglar smashed a window on a vehicle and stole items. The theft happened on the 100 block of Marcela Drive.

11:02 a.m.—Police investigated a burglary and fraud case on the 1000 block of Main Street. The probe involved drugs, stolen property and phony checks.

3:59 a.m.—A thief stole a camera from a business display on the 1900 block of Freedom Boulevard by cutting the security cable and walking out.

Saturday, Oct. 8

1:53 a.m.—Carlos Lopez Zepeda was arrested for DUI and driving on a suspended license on Tuttle Avenue at California Street.

7:44 a.m.—Joseph Granados was picked up for to warrants on the 100 block of Hi Grade.

12:12 p.m.—Police responded to a trespassing report on the 100 block of Sincero Drive. Jorge Garcia, 21, ran, but was caught nearby and arrested for allegedly having heroin, resisting police, a warrant and violating his probation.

4:10 p.m.—A 15-year-old was arrested for a fight on Main Street north of Rodriguez Street because he reportedly had a switchblade that molded into metal knuckles. He also was on probation.

4:29 p.m.—Carlos Zepeda, 30, was arrested for a parole violation. Police picked him up at his home on the 100 block of Carey Avenue.

7:36 p.m.—A teenage girl was jailed for allegedly slapping a WPD officer during a call on the 100 block of Carey Avenue.

7:49 p.m.—A burglar struck a home on the 1300 block of Madison Street, stealing walking canes, food and some jewelry.

8:04 p.m.—Two cars were burglarized on the 200 block of Ohlone Parkway.

8:09 p.m.—Jorge Moreno, a 40-year-old wanted parole, was arrested on the 100 block of Sixth Street.

8:18 p.m.—A vandal damaged a vehicle on the 100 block of Sudden Street.

Friday, Oct. 7

1:31 a.m.—Police got involved in an arson investigation on the 100 block of Sudden Street. Someone was hurt in the fire.

10:35 a.m.—Someone used fake money in a vending machine on the 1900 block of Main Street.

12:28 p.m.—A bike was stolen from outside Salud Para La Gente on the 200 block of East Beach Street.

4:21 p.m.—Kyle Gentry, 57, got a ticket for allegedly punching another man in the face on the 100 block of East Front Street.

5:48 p.m.—Alejandro Fernandez, 19, was arrested for having an illegal knife and Josue Ramirez, 21, was booked on a probation violation. They were arrested on South Green Valley Road and Kralj Drive.

6:52 p.m.—Ruben Sanguino was arrested on Trafton and Marchant streets for allegedly having a billy club.

8:30 p.m.—Burglars broke into a home on the 200 block of Silver Leaf Drive.

9 p.m.—A teenager was reportedly caught with alcohol on Miller Avenue at Buena Vista Drive. He was arrested for that and a probation violation, then allegedly kicked a patrol car. He was also booked on suspicions of resisting arrest.

9:20 p.m.—Francisco Berlangas, 50, was arrested for DUI on Airport and Freedom boulevards following a head-on crash. He ran from police once before officers caught up to him. Berlanagas was jailed.

9:38 p.m.—Anthony Sencion and Jonathan Ramirez were arrested for being drunk in public on West Beach and Walker streets.

8:16 p.m.—A truck was pulled over after the driver ran a red light. Lloyd McBroom, 55, was arrested for DUI on Martinelli and Sierra streets.
