Police Blotter: Car Shot At

The following arrest information was provided by the Watsonville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A gunman shot at a car on the 200 block of Carey Avenue just after dark Sunday night, according to Watsonville police.

The shots were fired around 6:45 p.m. No one was hurt; the car was unoccupied. Witnesses told police a white Honda drove away after the shooting, but it wasn't clear if the vehicle was involved in the violence, police said.

No arrests were made.

Monday, Nov. 14

12:37 a.m.—Police investigated vandalism and a complaint about trespassing on posted land on the 100 block of Lee Road.

5:48 a.m.—Two men broke into the coin-op box of a car vacuuming machine at Softspra Car Wash on the 400 block of East Lake Avenue. But they fled in a primer black, late 1980s Ford Ranger pickup without license plates before they took any coins. The duo left a propane torch behind.

1:42 p.m.—A man has been stalking and texting a woman who works at a Freedom Boulevard market. Her car was vandalized and the woman thinks the same man caused the damage.

8:34 p.m.—Jose Mendoza Ruiz, 52, was stopped for driving without headlights and was arrested for DUI on Lincoln Street and Riverside Drive.

8:39 p.m.—Anthony Tavera was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant on Vista Point and Vista Del Mar drives.

8:53 p.m.—A house was burglarized on the 100 block of Marchant Street.

Sunday, Nov. 13

12:27 a.m.—Isaac Madrigal, 23, was arrested for being drunk in public on the 600 block of Tuttle Avenue.

3:20 p.m.—Thieves used "ninja rocks" to break a window on a parked car and steal items. The break-in happened on the 100 block of West Beach Street.

5:34 p.m.—A 35-year-old man was found bleeding from his head on the 200 block of Clifford Street. He told police gang members beat him up.

7:58 p.m.—Juan Llamas was arrested for assaulting his teenage cousin earlier in the day. He allegedly threw the boy against a wall, slapped him and punched him in the face. Llamas was arrested on the 200 block of Shasta Street for child cruelty.

Saturday, Nov. 12

1:29 p.m.—Felipe Ruiz was pulled over on Sudden and East Fifth streets. He got a ticket for a warrant.

6:10 p.m.—A woman's wallet was stolen out of her purse on the 100 block of Carey Avenue.

11:02 p.m.—Police got a report of vandalism on the 500 block of South Green Valley Road.

Friday, Nov. 11

12:03 a.m.–Carlos Morales, 23, was arrested on a warrant on the 200 block of Union Street.

2:12 a.m.—Police investigated a gun case on the 900 block of East Lake Avenue.

3:43 a.m.—Sharon Carnes got a ticket for an outstanding warrant. She was picked up on East Lake Avenue at Madison Street.

9:44 a.m.—Brett Earl Taylor, 55, evaded police on a motorcycle. The chase was on Airport Boulevard eastbound toward Freedom Boulevard. Police are getting a warrant.

11:46 a.m.—Michael Ramirez, 20, and two teens were smoking marijuana on the 700 block of Vista Montaña Drive. They fled when police came they tried to flee, but were arrested. Ramirez also allegedly had a fake $20 bill with him.

1:45 p.m.—Marcos Delatorre was pulled over on West Riverside Drive and Sakata Lane. He was violating his probation and was arrested.

2:47 p.m.—Ronald Sandoval was arrested for having drugs and drug paraphernalia, as well as a probation violation on the 400 block of Argos Court.

4:51 p.m.—Walter Andrew Olsen, 41, was arrested for having a concealed dagger on the 400 block of Rodriguez Street.

5:33 p.m.—A man stole a 30-pack of beer from a store on the 1900 block of Freedom Boulevard.

11:16 p.m.—Luis Santos was arrested for drug possession and a misdemeanor warrant on the 500 block of Main Street.

Thursday, Nov. 10

1:48 a.m.—Joanna Lee Jordan was arrested for a warrant on the 100 block of West Beach Street.

10:56 a.m.—Burglars got in to a garage on the 700 block of California Street and tried to take items, but nothing was stolen.

1:44 p.m.—There was a mid-day burglary on the 100 block of Herman Avenue.

2:41 p.m.—Two minors were taken into custody on the 700 block of Vista Montaña Drive and released to Child Protective Services.

5:14 p.m.—Adrian Puga was arrested for an outstanding warrant at Crossroads Square on Main Street. At County Jail, he was caught with methamphetamine and heroin.

6:57 p.m.—Joel Solorzano was arrested for having a weapon on the 600 block of Rodriguez Street. Brian Arce and two 17-year-olds were arrested for probation violations.

9:36 p.m.—Robert Anthony Dicicco, 47, got a ticket for a warrant on Brennan Street and East Lake Avenue.
