Police Blotter: Catching Up

Patch missed a few days of crime reports last weekend; here's the recap.

Watsonville Police Blotter, Sunday, May 20

1:31 a.m.—A 55-year-old man was arrested for being drunk in public on West Beach and Rodriguez streets.

11:24 a.m.—A car burglar smashed out the front driver's window on a car and stole items. It happened overnight on the 500 block of Main Street.

7:57 p.m.—A man tried to stop a man who matched the description of a hit-and-run crash suspect. The man, age 56, resisted arrest and had two warrants. He was jailed. It was on the 1400 block of Freedom Boulevard.

Saturday, May 19

12:37 a.m.—In separate incidents, two men were arrested for being drunk in public on the 200 block of Pacifica Boulevard and on the 300 block of Pennsylvania Drive.

7:33 a.m.—A car burglar smashed out a window and stole items from a car on the 100 block of Jefferson Street overnight.

7:03 p.m.—A man was arrested for attempted robbery on East Front Street and the Pajaro River levee.

7:19 p.m.—A 39-year-old man was arrested for a warrant on the 800 block of Walker Street.

9:10 p.m.—Two teens were arrested for cocaine possession with intent to sell. They had 3.9 grams of the drug and are both known gang members.

9:51 p.m.—A woman was ticketed for driving with expired registration and no insurance on Freedom Boulevard and Davis Avenue. She got a ticket and her vehicle was impounded.

Friday, May 18

8:12 a.m.—A burglar stole a laptop from a classroom at EA Hall Middle School, on Brewington Avenue.

8:54 a.m.—A car was vandalized on the 100 block of Loma Prieta Avenue.

12:03 p.m.—A man was arrested for a restraining order violation on the 100 block of Second Street.

12:18 p.m.—A woman was arrested on the 300 block of Main Street at the request of the Probation Department.

1:02 p.m.—Someone wrote gang graffiti on the YMCA gym door.

2:04 p.m.—ID theft was reported by a resident of the 100 block of Still Breeze Lane.

6:42 p.m.—A man was arrested for being drunk on the 300 block of Rodriguez Street.

9:44 p.m.—A man was stopped for a city code violation but had methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on Airport Boulevard and Freedom Boulevard.

10:15 p.m.—A man was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant and drug charge on Rodriguez and Second streets.

10:45 p.m.—An off-duty cop followed a DUI driver until police made the arrest on the 900 block of East Lake Avenue.

11:01 p.m.—A woman was arrested for being high on drugs on the 400 block of J Street.

Thursday, May 17

8:51 a.m.—A woman was arrested for trespassing and having a meth pipe on the 300 block of West Beach Street.

1:10 p.m.—A man turned himself in for a warrant at the police station.

6:40 p.m.—A man was arrested for evading, child endangerment, gang crimes, resisting arrest, a parole violation and resisting arrest on the Second and Rodriguez streets.

10:33 p.m.—A teenager had a loaded revolver and a shotgun, as well as marijuana for sale. He was arrested on the 100 block of Meadow Terrace.

11:59 p.m.—A man was arrested for heroin possession and being high on drugs on the 1400 block of Freedom Boulevard.

Tuesday, May 15

3:40 a.m.—A man was arrested for drug paraphernalia possession on West Beach and Locust streets.

4:01 a.m.—A man said someone broke out a window on his vehicle on the 100 block of Marchant Street and stole a DVD/CD player.

8:30 a.m.—A vandal damaged a car parked on the 400 block of East Beach Street.

9:48 a.m.—Two people were arrested for trespassing on the 200 block of Riverside Drive.

1:25 p.m.—A car burglar stole items from an unlocked vehicle on the 800 block of Lake Village Drive.

1:37 p.m.—Burglars entered an unlocked storage shed and stole items on the 100 block of Rampart Road.

5:05 p.m.—A vandal keyed a car on the 400 block of Rogge Street.

5:44 p.m.—Two teenage boys were arrested for violating their probation terms on the 700 block of Palm Avenue. They got tickets and were released to their moms.

5:59 p.m.—A man was holding an open beer can in a parking stall on the 200 block of Silver Leaf Drive. He was searched and had a switchblade, so he was arrested.

10:57 p.m.—A man was arrested for a parole violation after causing a disturbance at the 7-Eleven on the 200 block of East Lake Avenue.
