Police Blotter: Detectives Far From Making Homicide Arrest

The following arrest information was supplied by the Watsonville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police said Tuesday they're still a ways from making an arrest in connection with .

Sgt. Saul Gonzalez said officers searched the Honda Accord that the shooter rode in, but declined to say if anything came of that angle in the investigation.

Gustavo Diaz Saragoza, 20, of Prunedale was shot and killed by rival gang members around 6:15 p.m. Saturday. His girlfriend, a 25-year-old Prunedale woman, also was hit by bullets, but the injury was not life-threatening.

Watsonville Police Log, Monday, July 25

12:46 a.m.—Police arrested Jose Javier Ortiz was arrested on suspicion of DUI on Ramport Road and Airport Boulevard.

8:06 a.m.—A locked shed was burglarized overnight on the 100 block of Penny Lane.

12:45 p.m.—Vandals threw chunks of asphalt through the front windows of a building on the 1100 block of Freedom Boulevard.

5:07 p.m.—A vandal keyed a vehicle parked on the 100 block of Marchant Street. The vandalism happened sometime in the past 24 hours.

5:40 p.m.—Theft was reported on the 700 block of Lincoln Street.

10:33 p.m.—A vandal broke out two windows on his car when it was parked on the 100 block of Main Street.

Sunday, July 24

7:30 p.m.—Adrian Camacho, 27, was caught with six packets of heroin on the 100 block of East Beach Street. He was arrested.

10:26 p.m.—Amado Villanueva was arrested for DUI while he had his 11-month-old child was in the car. He was pulled over on Riverside Avenue and Main Street, and had a blood-alcohol level of 0.19.

10:29 p.m.—Police dealt with a person wanted for assault. Officers responded to the 400 block of Holohan Road.

Saturday, July 23

4:19 a.m.—Marcelino Solis and Miguel Castillo were arrested during a family disturbance on the 200 block of Clifford Avenue. Solis was arrested for drunk in public and Castillo for battery.

8:50 a.m.—A vandal slashed the rear tires and keyed a vehicle parked on the 100 block of Magnolia Drive.

5:38 p.m.—Police made an arrest for driving on a suspended license on Madison and East High streets.

7:18 p.m.—A teenage boy was cited and turned over to his family after officers caught him with marijuana on the 100 block of Hollowview Lane, a violation of his probation.

8:31 p.m.—Jaennie Roberts, 49, was arrested on the 400 block of Rodriguez Street for allegedly having methamphetamine.

Friday, July 22

10:02 a.m.—Ramon Martinez was arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property on the 100 block of College Road. It's a violation of his probation.

11:05 p.m.—Raul Hernandez Ramirez, 26, was arrested on suspicion of a probation violation, but then spit on an officer's hand so he was also booked for battery.
