Police Blotter: Double Drug Bust on Mckenzie Ave. on Thursday

The following arrest information was supplied by the Watsonville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Watsonville police treaded on, overall, calm terrain on Thursday and early Friday morning. On Thursday at noon, though, there was a triple arrest and double drug bust. More details on this case, and others found in the police’s arrest log, are below.

Watsonville Police Log, Friday, July 1

1:10 a.m. —Renato Jimenez, 40, was arrested for public intoxication at Madison Street and Martinelli Street. He was also on violation of his probation, and was transported to County Jail.

1:55 a.m. —An unknown Hispanic male shattered the glass window of a store on the 100 block of E. Lake Ave, and stole beer from inside the store.

9 a.m.—Police stopped a vehicle for two traffic violations on the 400 block of Airport Boulevard. The driver was unlicensed. The passenger, Ruben Lara, 43, gave a false name and was arrested on two outstanding warrants.

12:04 p.m. —Police arrested Adrian Puga, 28, for possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia on the 500 block of Mckenzie Ave. Denise Basaldua, 36, was arrested for outstanding warrants and possession of paraphernalia. Stephanie Neira, 33, was also arrested for outstanding warrants.

9:46 p.m. —An unidentified suspect entered an unlocked vehicle and stole an HP laptop computer on the 500 block of Rodriguez Street. The case was closed due to a lack of leads.

10:57 p.m. —A male juvenile was contacted after trespassing at E.A. Hall Middle School. The juvenile was also intoxicated.

Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office, June 30

1:50 p.m.—Antonio Sanchez, 44, was arrested for a parole violation.

7:03 p.m.—Carlos Rosales, 48, was arrested for being under the possession of a controlled substance on Freedom Boulevard.
