Police Blotter: Drunks Staggering and Urinating in Public

The following arrest information was provide by the Watsonville Police Department and the Sheriff's Office. It does not indicate a conviction.

Watsonville Police Log, Sunday, Dec. 18

12:18 a.m.—A 27-year-old man was jailed for DUI. He was arrested on the 200 block of Ross Avenue.

4:12 p.m.—A 30-year-old man was peeing in front of the Salvation Army Shelter on Union Street. He was drunk and taken to jail.

7:03 p.m.—Police were called about a father who returned his children to their mother two hours late, a violation of a court order. That happened on the 100 block of Ortega Drive.

7:06 p.m.—A man suffering from four stab wounds showed up at the Watsonville Community Hospital emergency room. He refused to answer any questions about the attack. The wounds—on his back and chest—were not life-threatening.

7:09 p.m.—A 30-year-old man staggered into traffic on the 600 block of Main Street. Police took him to jail for being drunk in public.

Saturday, Dec. 17

1:51 a.m.—A 22-year-old man was taken to jail for public intoxication during a DUI investigation on the 100 block of Green Valley Road.

1:27 p.m.—A teenage girl was arrested on the 100 block of Toscano Loop for violating her probation.

5:03 p.m.—A 62-year-old man was jailed for drunk in public. Police contacted him during a medical call on the 100 block of West Beach Street.

5:07 p.m.—Two robbers stole a 53-year-old man's wallet and his bike on Brennan Street and Freedom Boulevard.

9:18 p.m.—A 22-year-old man said someone brandished a handgun at him. The assailant was in a gray 1980s Mercury; the incident happened on the 1000 block of Marin Street.

9:07 p.m.—A 22-year-old man trespassing at the Salvation Army on Union Street was arrested for a warrant.

11:09 p.m.—A 23-year-old man speeding on the outskirts of town was arrested for DUI on Beach Street and Ohlone Parkway. A sheriff's deputy had followed him to that point, then turned over the case to Watsonville police.

Friday, Dec. 16

11:21 a.m.—Cash and jewelry were stolen from a bedroom in a home on the 100 block of Park Way.

3:55 p.m.—A 21-year-old man was arrested for having heroin and hypodermic needles in his car when he was pulled over on the 100 block of West Beach Street. He also was violating his probation and was taken to County Jail.

4:41 p.m.—A thief took a wallet left in a shopping cart at the Dollar Tree on South Green Valley Road.

7:02 p.m.—Two teenage boys were arrested for shoplifting from Kmart on Freedom Boulevard. They were sent home with their parents. Less than two hour later, a 41-year-old woman got a ticket for the same crime at the same store.

11:51 p.m.—A 25-year-old man was arrested on the 100 block of Rockins Lane was arrested for having methamphetamine and pipe, and also for giving police a fake name.

Sheriff's Office, Saturday, Dec. 17

8 a.m.—An apartment on the 700 block of Freedom Boulevard was burglarized.

2:37 p.m.—A house on the 3200 block of Freedom Boulevard was burglarized. Deputies got a partial description of the burglars and their vehicle.

3:30 p.m.—The rear license plate of a car parked on the 2600 block of Beach Road was stolen.

Friday, Dec. 16

2 a.m.—A man was arrested for drunk in public on the 100 block of Pauline Road. Deputies were there for a disturbance.

7 a.m.—A house on the 200 block of Amesti Road was burglarized.

12 p.m.—A house on the 300 block of Corralitos Road was burglarized.

1:15 p.m.—A man on probation was arrested during a vehicle stop for being drunk. He's also on probation. The incident happened on Green Valley Road at Kralj Drive.

7 p.m.—A man was arrested on an out-of-county warrant on Harkins Slough Road at Buena Vista Drive.
