Police Blotter: Five Arrested for Fight at High School

Also, a forgery scam stole more than $20,000 from a couple trying to pay off a modified loan.

Wednesday, Oct. 17

10:48 a.m.—A thief stole property from the 500 block of West Beach Street and sold it on Craigslist.

1:16 p.m.—A scammer posed as a PG&E worker and coerced a 59-year-old woman into paying a fake bill for more than $400. It happened on the 100 block of Union Street.

1:25 p.m.—Five Watsonville High students were ticketed for fighting on school grounds. One had a knife. All were taken to the police station and later released to their parents.

1:42 p.m.—Police investigated a marijuana-related case on the 100 block of Carr Street.

4:45 p.m.—An ID thief opened phony credit accounts with a stolen identities.

6:27 p.m.—A man was cited for shoplifting from Kmart.

8:34 p.m.—A woman under arrest for drug charges on the 400 block of Rodriguez Street fought police and was also booked for battering an officer and resisting arrest.

10:43 p.m.—Police recovered illegal weapons during a car stop on Martinelli Street and Rogers Avenue.

11:25 p.m.—A woman on probation was arrested for drug charges on the 1000 block of South Green Valley Road.

Tuesday, Oct. 16

12 a.m.—A man crouching behind a Dumpster next to a laundromat on the 500 block of East Lake Avenue was arrested for drug charges and a probation violation.

7:57 a.m.—Vandals damaged cars on the 300 block of East Beach Street, the 100 block of Manana Lane and the 1700 block of Freedom Boulevard overnight. Two were scratched; the third had red spray paint on the rims.

2:12 p.m.—A burglar broke into a house on the 100 block of Magnolia Drive during the day.

2:20 p.m.—Tools were stolen from a truck bed of a vehicle parked on the 2000 block of Pajaro Lane during the day.

5:30 p.m.—A man got threatening calls from a San Jose-area phone number. The caller, who had a male voice, knew where the man worked.

6:27 p.m.—A man forged multiple money orders between May 2010 and January 2012 meant for payment to the a couple's loan modification. Total loss was more than $20,000.

Monday, Oct. 15

7:53 a.m.—A vandal broke the back window of a vehicle on the 100 block of Green Valley Road.

6:21 p.m.—A man was arrested for a warrant when officers were investigating gang activity on the 1400 block of Main Street.

7:12 p.m.—A man on probation was ran from police but was later arrested for drug charges during a disturbance call on the 200 block of Silver Leaf Drive.

10:36 p.m.—A man was arrested for giving cops a fake name on Clifford Avenue and Main Street.

11:12 p.m.—A man was arrested for drug charges on the 100 block of Silver Leaf Drive.
