The county's Gang Task Force arrested three Watsonville men who had a loaded 9mm semi-automatic pistol hidden under the front passenger seat of their black Honda sedan on Thursday evening, task force Cmdr. Mario Sulay reported.
The men were pulled over for speeding eastbound on Airport Bouelvard around 6:45 p.m. The car stopped on Roache Road, where task force members found open containers of alcohol in the car, Sulay reported.
Stanley Madrigal and Enrique Rocha, both 20, and 21-year-old Jose Cervantes were arrested on suspicion of possesing a loaded firearm in a car, possessing stolen property and gang crimes, authorities reported.
Madrigal was driving, with Rocha and Cervantes in the backseat. The alcohol was in the passenger compartment and the pistol, which had been reported stolen from Seal Beach on March 28, was under the passenger seat, Sulay said.
After the arrests, the men's homes were searched for evidence of gang involvement, Sulay said.
