Police Blotter: Gangsters Caught with Stolen, Loaded Pistol

The Gang Task Force made the arrest on Roache Road on Thursday.

The county's Gang Task Force arrested three Watsonville men who had a loaded 9mm semi-automatic pistol hidden under the front passenger seat of their black Honda sedan on Thursday evening, task force Cmdr. Mario Sulay reported.

The men were pulled over for speeding eastbound on Airport Bouelvard around 6:45 p.m. The car stopped on Roache Road, where task force members found open containers of alcohol in the car, Sulay reported.

Stanley Madrigal and Enrique Rocha, both 20, and 21-year-old Jose Cervantes were arrested on suspicion of possesing a loaded firearm in a car, possessing stolen property and gang crimes, authorities reported.

Madrigal was driving, with Rocha and Cervantes in the backseat. The alcohol was in the passenger compartment and the pistol, which had been reported stolen from Seal Beach on March 28, was under the passenger seat, Sulay said.

After the arrests, the men's homes were searched for evidence of gang involvement, Sulay said.

12:15 a.m.—A 28-year-old man at the Motel 6 on Silver Leaf Drive was arrested for a warrant, as well as having drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Thursday, April 5

1:27 a.m.—Police investigated a drug case on Locust and Second streets. A 45-year-old woman was arrested.

4:04 p.m.—Ther was a vandalism report on the 100 block of Main Street.

5:34 p.m.—A 21-year-old man was arrested for a probation violation on the 500 block of South Green Valley Road.

5:35 p.m.—A 24-year-old man was arrested for a probation violation on the 200 block of Grean Meadow Drive.

7:42 p.m.—Burglars stole from a house on the 100 block of Wagner Avenue.

7:48 p.m.—A 19-year-old man was arrested for having marijuana for sale on East Lake and Wagner avenues. Two underage teens with him were arrested for probation violations.

Wednesday, April 4

12:24 p.m.—Police investigated a petty theft and trespassing on the 500 block of East Lake Avenue.

6:04 p.m.—A man was arrested on a warrant and also gave officers a fake name. He was picked up on the 400 block of Rodriguez Street.

6:15 p.m.—A woman on the 100 block of Holly Drive reported her 16-year-old daughter kicked a door in their house and threatened to kill her with a 13-inch butcher knife. The daughter was arrested.

9:38 p.m.—A 25-year-old parolee was arrested on the 2000 block of Freedom Boulevard.

10:56 p.m.—A man was found asleep in another person's vehicle on the 100 block of East Front Street and cited for trespassing.

Sheriff's Office Log, Thursday, April 5

9:14 a.m.—Cocaine and methamphetamine were discovered in a car stopped for a vehicle code violation on Highway 129 at Murphys Crossing. The 34-year-old driver, Heriberto Rodriguez Calneda—who was also wanted in Madera County—was arrested on suspicion of transporting drugs for sale.

Wednesday, April 4

2:30 p.m.—Between 2:30 and 5:30 p.m. a burglar broke a window at a home on Cypress Lane and stole items.
