Police Blotter: Graffiti, Burglary and Two DUI's Over the Holiday Weekend

The following arrest information was provided by the Watsonville Police Department and the county Gang Task Force. It does not indicate a conviction.

Watsonville Police Log, Friday, Dec. 23

10:04 a.m.—Unknown suspect(s) spray painted graffiti on a conex storage container on the 100 block of Rodriguez Street. The tag contained the letters: "WVN, XIV Bubba Norte," and was painted in red paint. There are no witnesses or suspects.

12:04 p.m.—An unidentified suspect stole an insulin pump from a 24 year old male on the 100 block of Herman Avenue. The pump is valued at $4,700, and no further information has been released.

12:35 p.m.—A 20-year-old male was arrested for trespassing and breaking a window on the 100 block of Crespi Way. 

1:46 p.m.—A 28-year-old male was arrested for possession of pepper spray on the 600 block of Ocean Street. The is on probation for armed robbery and therefore was prohibited to possess pepper spray. The suspect was issued a probation hold and taken to the Santa Cruz County Jail for housing.

4:55 p.m.—An unknown suspect vandalized a vehicle with an unknown object on the 100 block of West Beach Street. The case was closed due to lack of leads.

6:15 p.m.—Two males fled from police, and one was arrested on Sudden Street and East Lake Avenue after police chased him on foot. The arrested male was 23 years old and taken to county jail for resisting a public officer and for disorderly conduct due to intoxication. The second male got away and an arrest warrent is being requested for him. 

9:38 p.m.—A 55 year old man was arrested for driving with a suspended license on the 1900 block of Freedom Boulevard. The suspect was contacted for driving with tinted front windows when the officers found that his license had been suspended. The suspect was issued a citation and given a court date. 

Saturday, Dec. 24

12:26 a.m.—Two juveniles fled on foot from a stolen vehicle on the 100 Block of Carey Avenue. They were later arrested and transported to Juvenile Hall. 

1:29 a.m.—After a disturbance at 7-11, a 26-year-old male was taken into custody for public intoxication on the 1400 block of Main Street. 

2:39 a.m.—A 21-year-old man was arrested for DUI and hit and run on the 100 block of Alton Way. The suspect's vehicle collided with a parked car then fled the scene. The suspect was booked into the county jail.

9:49 a.m.— An unidentified suspect or suspects entered an unlocked business and stole a laptop computer and $500 in cash on the 1900 block of Freedom Boulevard.

12:00p.m.—An unknown suspect or suspects vandalized a vehicle with an unknown object. The car belonged to a 42 year-old-woman. The case was closed due to lack of leads. 

7:06 p.m.—Two males, ages 18 and 20 were arrested during a disturbance call on the 400 block of Rodriguez Street. The 20-year-old was arrested for possession of a concealed fixed 10" blade knife, and the 18-year-old was arrested for voilation of his probation terms. 

8:05 p.m.—An unknown suspect stole several high value items from a residence on the 400 block of Suncrest Way. The suspect or suspects gained entry to the residence through a rear window. Latent finger prints were lifted. 

8:18 p.m.—An unknown suspect stole several items from a residence on the 400 block of Jefferson Street. 

9:25 p.m.—A 26-year-old man was arrested for hit and run and DUI on West Beach Street and Thurwachter. The suspect stated that he had been drinking beers at home, and had two 12 ounce Budweiser beers on him. The suspect's blood alcohol content was 0.13.

9:52 p.m.—A 54-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct under the influence of alcohol after being contacted during a domestic disturbance call. The incident occured on the 100 block of Carita Court. 

9:53 p.m.—A 24-year-old man was arrested for molesting a child under 18 years of age on the 100 block of Packard Lane. The suspect grabbed a female juvenile by her right hand and attempted to pull her away from her residence. The suspect was transported to County Jail.
