Police Blotter: Gun Found During Car Stop

The following arrest information was provided by the Watsonville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Cops discovered a 22-caliber revolver and arrested two people after pulling over a car early Monday, Watsonville police reported.

The car stop happened around 12:30 a.m. on the 1700 block of Freedom Boulevard. Jordan Anderson and another young man were arrested on suspicion of possessing a concealed firearm in a vehicle, police reported.

1:42 p.m.—Police investigated an identity theft case on the 400 block of Airport Road.

1:51 p.m.—Juan Flores, 23, was arrested for allegedly selling counterfeit DVDs and CDs on the 700 block of Rodriguez Street.

9:12 p.m.—Christopher Joseph Purdin, 44, got a ticket for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant on the 200 block of Green Meadow Drive.

Saturday, Sept. 15

10:15 a.m.—Jose Lopez, 41, was arrested for being drunk in public on the 900 block of East Lake Avenue.

7:25 a.m.— Police served a drug search warrant on the riverbank tent encampment of Alfredo “Oregon “ Rangel, 70, but no one was there and no evidence was found. The camp is on the Pajaro River levee at Sakata Lane.

12:05 p.m.—Lorena Garfias-Asencio, 21, was arrested for shoplifting from Kmart, on the 1700 block of Freedom Boulevard. She got a ticket.

8:37 p.m.—A car was broken into on the 300 block of Second Street.

10:52 p.m.—An underage teenager was arrested on the 600 Rodriguez Street for violating his probation. He reportedly had alcohol.

11:24 p.m.—A 17-year-old boy was arrested on the 100 block of West Fifth Street for violating his probation.

11:44 p.m.—Miguel Beltran Vasque, 29, was arrested after he was pulled over on the 100 block of Second Street for a vehicle code violation. He didn’t have a drivers license and also allegedly was driving drunk.

Friday, Sept. 16

12:09 a.m.—Police investigated a drug and weapons case on the 400 block of Herman Avenue.

4:32 a.m.—Heather Curtis, 32, was arrested on the 200 Silver Leaf Drive and jailed on an out-of-state warrant.

8:39 a.m.—Personal items and graffiti were found on the roof of a school on the 200 block of Brewington Avenue. Police think someone was camping on the rooftop.

7:29 p.m.—There was a fight on Technology Circle at Anna Street. Everyone involved wanted to press charges so police forwarded the case to the District Attorney’s Office for review.

9:19 p.m.—Three people ran from police and hid behind a closed business. Officers caught up to two of them—both underage teens—and discovered they had illegal knives. The incident happened on the 1100 block of Freedom Boulevard.

10:14 p.m.—Juan Garcia Delgado was arrested for having a methamphetamine pipe and a useable amount of meth. He also was violating his probation. Police arrested him on South Green Valley Road and Penny Lane.
