Police Blotter: Gun, Knife Come Out During Family Fight

The following arrest information was provided by the Watsonville Police Department and the Sheriff's Office. It does not indicate a conviction.

A man and a boy both pulled weapons during a family argument on Dalton Lane late Wednesday but no one was seriously hurt, the Sheriff's Office reported.

Victor Antonio Ramirez, 30, was in a verbal argument with his wife but the fight turned physical and one of the woman's sons ran to her aid. He reportedly went after Ramirez with a knife and cut him on the neck, according to sheriff's reports.

Ramirez ran, picked up a rifle and shot at his wife's sons, who had hidden in the bathroom, deputies reported. The boys weren't hit with gunfire.

Ramirez was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and domestic violence. His bail was set at $150,000, according to County Jail records.

The boy was taken to Juvenile Hall and booked for assault, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's Office, Tuesday, Sept. 20

12:11 p.m.—Two teenage boys and an adult burglarized a house on the 400 Lakeview Road. They took the house by force and stole jewelry. They were caught with the stolen goods and were arrested.

3 p.m.—A couple got into a fight on La Selva Drive and one slapped the other during an argument. One was arrested.

Watsonville Police Log, Thursday, Sept. 22

2:20 a.m.—Diego Garcia Bolanos was arrested for a 2002 warrant during a traffic stop on Main and West Fifth streets.

Wednesday, Sept. 21

9:04 a.m.—Vandals keyed a car ont he 100 block of Western Drive. The damage occurred overnight.

9:42 a.m.—Jorge Navaro, 31, was arrested for a warrant on the 200 block of Union Street.

11:20 a.m.—Rene Moreno, 46, was arrested for allegedly possessing heroin and drug paraphernalia on the 300 block of Second Street.

5:06 p.m.—A car on the 200 block of Hushbeck Avenue was burglarized.

10:45 p.m.—Jose Angel Campos was arrested for a warrant during a traffic stop on Carey and Landis avenues.

Tuesday, Sept. 20

11:37 a.m.—A car parked on the 100 block of Bronson Street was broken into.

1:36 p.m.—A teenager was caught with a knife on the 200 block of East Beach Street and got a ticket.
