Police Blotter: Gunshots Reported

Also, a man was jailed for warrants just minutes after his birthday passed.

A witness reported seeing someone fire shots from a moving vehicle on Second and Rodriguez streets Saturday evening, according to Watsonville police.

The shooting was reported around 6 p.m. No victims were found.

It occurred during a relatively violent weekend in Watsonville. Shots were fired at a home on Green Meadow Drive on Friday evening and, on Thanksgiving, a man was stabbed during a fight on Berman Lane.

Warrant Arrest—A man, age 40, was arrested on the 1400 block of Main Street just after midnight. (Sunday was his birthday.)

Sunday, Nov. 25

Minor with Alcohol—A 19-year-old driver was pulled over on West Riverside Drive and Rodriguez Street around 12:30 a.m. He had alcohol and his driver's license was suspended.

Probation Violation—A man was arrested on California Street and Hill Avenue around 12:30 p.m.

Petty Theft—A woman was ticketed on the 400 block of Rodriguez STreet at 12:52 p.m.

Drug Possession—It happened on the 100 block of Main Street around 1:20 p.m.

Grand Theft—Two men stole items from a car parked on the 200 block of East Lake Avenue in the evening.

Warrant Arrest—A 34-year-old woman was arrested on the 400 block of Rodriguez Street around 8:40 p.m.

Warrant Arrest—A 28-year-old woman was arrested on the 200 block of Silver Leaf Drive around 8:50 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 24

Disorderly Conduct—A 21-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication on the 100 block of Jefferson Street around 2:43 a.m.

Vandalism—A car was damaged on the 100 block of Altamont Drive. It was reported at 9 a.m.

Resisting Arrest—A man, age 56, was cited on the 400 block of Rodriguez Street around 10:40 a.m.

Assault—A man was arrested for misdemeanor assault and warrants at 12:30 p.m. on the 100 block of East Fifth Street.

Grand Theft—Items were stolen from a hotel room on the 500 block of Auto Center Drive overnight.

DUI—A 49-year-old man fled the scene of a crash on Main Street and Riverside Drive just before 7 p.m.. He was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Burglary—A home on the 100 block of Lawrence Avenue was broken into in the past three days. It was reported around 7:45 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 23

DUI—A 21-year-old woman was arrested for drunken driving, assault and making threats after a fight on the 100 block of Sudden Street around 2:45 a.m. A woman with her, also 21, was arrested for being drunk.

Vehicle theft—A car was stolen from the 500 block of Airport Boulevard. It was reported at 8:45 a.m.

Probation Violation—A man was arrested on the 100 block of Arthur Road around 9:20 a.m.

Petty Theft—A man, age 23, was arrested for shoplifting on the 1700 block of Freedom Boulevard at 10:37 a.m.

Burglary—Aluminum cans were stolen from a recycling center on the 2000 block of Freedom Boulevard during the past two days.

Knife Brandishing—A 46-year-old man threatened an employee with a knife on the 200 block of Westgate Drive around 12:15 p.m. He was arrested for exhibiting a weapon and trespassing.

Illegal weapon—A man was arrested for having an illegal knife in the parking lot of the Resetar Hotel on the 100 block of West Lake Avenue around 9:30 p.m.

DUI—A man was arrested on Bronson Street and Carmel Avenue around 11:20 p.m. A passenger was jailed for public intoxication.

Thursday, Nov. 22

Weapons and Drugs—A 51-year-old man was arrested for having an illegal knife and a methamphetamine pipe on Rodriguez and West Beach streets around 12:30 a.m.

Counterfeit Bills—A fake $20 bill was found at a business on the 1400 block of Main Street and turned over to police at 12:45 p.m.

Discharging a Weapon—A BB gun was fired at a home on the 100 block of La Hacienda Street just after 3 p.m.

Warrant Arrest—A 44-year-old woman contacted during the investigation of a stabbing on Berman Lane was arrested for an unrelated warrant.

Burglary—Jewelry and electronics were stolen from a home on the 100 block of Jefferson Street. The burglary occurred overnight.

Stolen Checks—A man contacted because he was sitting with an underage girl on the 100 block of Roosevelt Street around 11:30 p.m. was arrested for having 29 stolen checks from 28 different people in his car. He was on probation, which made him subject to police searches.

Wednesday, Nov. 21

False ID—A 24-year-old man gave police a fake name when stopped on the 300 block of Walker Street around 11:20 a.m.

Drunk in Public—A man, age 39, was arrested for public intoxication on the 200 block of Main Street at 11:45 a.m.

Warrant Arrest—A 27-year-old man was arrested on the 700 block of Palm Avenue around 12:20 p.m.

Drunk in Public—A woman, age 30, was arrested for public intoxication on the 100 block of Marchant Street around 2:30 p.m.

Counterfeit Bills—A man tried to use a fake $10 bill to make purchase on the 100 block of West Lake Avenue around 3:15 p.m.

Hit and Run—It happened on Kingfisher Drive south of Ohlone Parkway around 5:30 p.m. A 50-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Drunk in Public—A 52-year-old woman was arrested for public intoxication and a Monterey County warrant on the 1900 block of Freedom Boulevard around 7:30 p.m.
