Police Blotter: Home-Invasion Robber Caught

The suspect accused of tying up two brothers and robbing them is a 15-year-old gang member.

A 15-year-old gang member already wanted for felony gun possession was arrested Friday in connection with a home invasion robbery where two brothers were victimized, Watsonville police reported.

The home invasion robbery happened around 1 p.m. Friday when two armed robbers tied up two brothers, ages 12 and 14, in their house and stole from them, police reported.

The boys were able to identify one suspect by his nickname and through a photo line-up, Watsonville police Sgt. Saul Gonzalez. That suspect, a 15-year-old, was arrested at a home on the 100 block of Atkinson Lane later Friday.

Gonzalez said the teen is not cooperating with investigators and has not revealed who his accomplice was. Officers didn't find the pistol used in the robbery, but did recover some of the stolen property.

The robbery was gang motivated, but Gonzalez said the boys who were victimized were not gang members.
