Police Blotter: Kids Caught in Crossfire of Drive-by Shooting
There were two drivebys in Watsonville this weekend.
Three kids narrowly escaped injury in one of the two drive-by shootings in Watsonville this weekend, Watsonville police reported.
The kids were in front of a house on the 100 block of Jeanette Way around noon Saturday when a small car pulled over and a passenger got out. The persons said "What's up, Norte!" and fired four rounds at the kids, police reported.
The kids weren't hit, but two bullets struck a nearby house. No arrests were made.

Earlier, on Friday night, a Carey Avenue house was shot at.
It's the second time this month, someone fired shots at a house on the 200 block of Carey Avenue. The gunfire was reported around 11:35 p.m. Friday. No one was hurt and the case was forwarded to the Investigation Bureau.

Watsonville Police Blotter, Saturday, June 23
8:22 a.m.—A vandal smashed a car window on the 100 block of West Lake Avenue. Another car window was shattered on the 500 block of East Lake Avenue overnight.
10:43 a.m.—The parking garage elevator on the 100 block of West Beach Street was spray painted. The third floor lobby walls were also vandalized.
4:58 p.m.—A 37-year-old man was arrested for being drunk in public on Walker and West Beach streets.
6:23 p.m.—Two teenagers ran from Target security officers but were caught by security and Watsonville police. Both were violating their probation and one had a kitchen knife in her purse.
10:10 p.m.—A man was arrested for using drugs in the Motel 6 parking lot. He also had warrants.
Friday, June 22
1:23 a.m.—A 34-year-old woman was arrested on a warrant on the 1400 block of Main Street.
5:07 p.m.—A house was burglarized during the day. It happened on the 500 block of East Beach Street.
11:23 p.m.—A passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over was arrested for three warrants. The car stop happened on Holly Drive and Airport Road.
11:37 p.m.—A 25-year-old man was arrested for a warrant when police went to a house for a noise complaint.
