Police Blotter: Lady Law-Breakers

The following arrest information was supplied by the Watsonville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Female crooks were busy Tuesday in Watsonville, it seems.

First, around 2:40 p.m. a resident came home and caught two women stealing items from the house, on the 300 block of Brentwood Drive. The women fled and ran from the area with two other women.

Then, just before 4 p.m. a woman reported two women stole her purse and sprayed her in the face with mace on the 800 block of Walker Street. The attackers fled in a gray sedan.

No arrests were made in either case.

2:47 a.m.—A burglar used a wrench to open the door handle at 44 Mariposa Ave. then tunnelled through a wall into the bathroom of an adjacent business and tried to steal a safe. The security system thwarted the break-in.

7:20 a.m.—Thieves smashed the driver's side window of a car parked on the 900 block of Lincoln Street and stole items. There also were two car break-ins on the 200 block of Santa Clara Street and one on the 400 block of Winchester Drive overnight.

9:03 a.m.—A vandal keyed a car on the 100 block of Arthur Road.

10:46 a.m.—Adrian Padilla Leyva, 20, was cited for vandalism on the 100 block of Second Street.

1:56 p.m.—Police dealt with a drug case on the 100 block of Feliz Drive.

5:04 p.m.—A teen was ticketed for shoplifting from a store on the 1400 block of Main Street.

6:56 p.m.—An Acura Intrega was stolen from the 1400 block of Main Street.

8:07 p.m.—Christine Harlan was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. Police were called to South Green Valley Road and Melwood Way because she was fighting with her sister.
