Police Blotter: Liquor Store Robbed

Cash, lottery tickets and liquor stolen during late-night heist.

Three men brandishing handguns held up the on the 1900 block of Freedom Boulevard just before 11 p.m. Tuesday, police reported.

The armed robbers stole cash from the register, bottles of alcohol and lottery tickets, Watsonville police reported.

The robbers fled and have not been caught.

The heist is the latest in a string of gunpoint holdups in the city. Monday night, , also on Freedom Boulevard. Two banks and another liquor store have been robbed since mid-December.

11:21 a.m.—Police investigated allegations a 65-year-old woman was assaulted by her adult son on the 100 block of Landis Avenue. Guillermo Omar Rosas, 25, was arrested in the suspected elder-abuse case.

11:40 p.m.—James Pena, 25, was caught allegedly smoking marijuana in his car on the 1700 block of Freedom Bouelvard. He also had a warrant and was arrested.

Sheriff's Office, Friday, Jan. 14

12:15 p.m.— A wallet containing more than $670 was stolen from an unlocked car parked on the 300 block of Corralitos Road.

California Highway Patrol, Saturday, Jan. 15

4:54 a.m.—A Connecticut man was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Richard John Pavlich, 54, was stopped on Green Valley Road just north of Airport Boulevard.

Sunday, Jan. 16

7:27 a.m.—Nardo Garcia, 36, of Watsonville was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence on southbound Highway 1 north of Rio Del Mar Boulevard.
