Police Blotter: Men Robbed at Gunpoint

Also, man stunned with Taser, and a father doesn't bring his child back from Mexico visit.

Two men walking near Walker Street and West Lake Avenue were held up at gunpoint Monday night, reported.

A pair of armed robbers approached the men, ages 45 and 67, just before 8 p.m., pulled guns and demanded their money. The men feared for their lives, so they handed over cash, according to Lt. David McCartney.

The robbers fled on Walker Street. The men went to a nearby business to call police. Despite an extensive search, the robbers were not found.

Police said the robbers were Latino men in their late teens or early 20s. Detectives ask anyone with information about the holdup to call the Investigations Bureau at 831-768-3350 or the crime tip line at 831-768-3544.

1:18 a.m.—A car was broken into on the 100 block of Jefferson Drive, and sunglasses were stolen.

2:33 a.m.—Two car burglars driving a maroon Mercedes punched out the driver's side door lock on a car parked on the 200 block of Silver Leaf Drive. They stole something from the center console and fled.

5:28 a.m.—A vehicle parked on the 100 block of Shady Oaks Drive was burglarized overnight. A bag containing women's clothes and an iPod Nano was taken. A similar burglary was reported later in the day on the 100 block of Magnolia Drive. In that case, two purses and a wallet were stolen.

4:34 p.m.—Jose Marquez, 68, and his son, Daniel Ramirez, got into a fight on the 100 block of West Front Street. The father was stabbed in the leg during the altercation.

10:12 p.m.—Someone threw a wrench through the front window of a business on the 300 block of Walker Street.

10:08 p.m.—Three women were caught drinking alcohol in a car parked on the 700 block of Vista Montana Drive. They allegedly had drugs with them. Angela Zamora, 28, and Noemi Melgoza and Virginia Monroy, both 21, were arrested.

11:01 p.m.—There was a theft on the 2100 block of Freedom Boulevard.

Sunday, Feb. 6

1:57 a.m.—Brian Kajisa was arrested for being drunk in public on the 800 block of Madison Street.

7:45 p.m.—Angel Torres, 27, was a suspect in a suspicious person call on the 300 block of East Beach Street. He was detained and struggled against officers. Police stunned him with a Taser. Torres was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest.

7:49 p.m.—Jose Fuentes Lopez has failed to bring his daughter back from a vacation to Mexico, violating the terms of a family court order between him and his ex-wife.

8:32 p.m.—Officers responded to a report of a reckless driver on Yarro Court. A motorist was stopped on nearby Pelican Drive on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Saturday, Feb. 5

1 a.m.—Two men, ages 21 and 23, were assaulted on the 1900 block of Main Street.

2:11 a.m.—Julio Campos, 27, was arrested after allegedly giving police a fake name. Officers reported he was at Martinelli Street and Brewington Avenue, extremely drunk and violating his probation. He was arrested.

11:06 a.m.—Mark Long, 50, was arrested on the 100 block of Green Valley Road for a misdemeanor warrant. When officers frisked him, they allegedly found a package of hash in his front pants pocket. He was arrested.

2:08 p.m.—A good Samaritan reported Francisco Duarte Ortiz's vehicle was swerving and driving 5 mph below the speed limit. Officers pulled over Ortiz at Riverside Drive and Lincoln Street, where the 56-year-old was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

7:54 p.m.—A 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of tampering with a vehicle on the 300 block of Pennsylvania Drive.

11:21 p.m.—Jose Ortiz, 23, was allegedly drunk in public on the 200 block of Rose Avenue. He was taken to County Jail.

Friday, Feb. 4

1:24 p.m.—Gregorio Reyes Carranza, 41, was arrested for a parole violation at his home the 300 block of Fuchsia Drive.

3:05 p.m.—Oscar Gamboa, 19, and Reymundo Chavez, 20, were arrested following a police call to a gang-related disturbance at Main Street and West Lake Avenue. Both men also were listed as victims in the incident.

3:25 p.m.—Jesus Colimote Avalos, 35, allegedly had cocaine in the alley on the south side of the city parking garage on Beach Street. He was arrested.

3:44 p.m.—Samual Duran, 18, was cited on Freedom Boulevard at Brennan Street for allegedly violating a court order.

6:50 p.m.—Vicente Vestal allegedly tried to hit two females with his belt. He was cited for misdemeanor assault at Main and East Beach streets.

8:18 p.m.—Angel Avelino, 38, was cited for allegedly shoplifting from a business on the 1400 block of Main Street.

10:33 p.m.—Officers went to Jesse Ybarra's home on Shady Oaks Drive to conduct a parole search, but Ybarra wasn't home. That violates the curfew set by his parole agent, according to police.

11:16 p.m.—Three teens were cited for allegedly possessing vandalism tools. Police stopped Michael Louis Chavez, 18, and Adrian Patrick Leon and Ramon Ortiz-Rocha, both 19, on the 1700 block of Freedom Boulevard. A fourth teen, 19-year-old Alfredo Alanis Garcia, allegedly had marijuana with him and was cited.
