Police Blotter: Molotov Cocktail Thrown at School

The following arrest information was provided by the Watsonville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

An arsonist threw a Molotov cocktail at a portable classroom at around 8:20 p.m. Saturday, police reported.

The bottle filled with flameable liquid ignited a small fire on the ground near the classroom, but it was quickly extinguished, police said.

No arrests were made.

1:02 a.m.—Manuel Maldonado, 39, was pulled over on West Fifth and Main streets and arrested for DUI.

Sunday, Sept. 25

12:33 a.m.—A vandal shattered a rear window on a vehicle on the 500 block of East Lake Avenue.

1:27 a.m.—Gabriel Gonzalez, 42, was arrested for resisting police on the 100 block of Ford Street.

8:59 p.m.—A vandal smashed the passenger door window on a car on the 100 block of Riverside Drive.

Saturday, Sept. 24

6:47 a.m.—Eder Guzman, 26, was arrested for being drunk in public. He kicked a car door on the 300 block of East Beach Street.

12:18 p.m.—Police used a Tazer to subdue a man who allegedly was high on drugs and acting violent. Julio Olaguez was reportedly being aggressive toward family members in their home on the 300 block of Hill Avenue. He also seemed to be high on drugs, police said. Olaguez was violent with officers when they got to the house and they shocked with the stun gun. Olaguez was taken to the hospital after being arrested.

1:32 p.m.—A 44-year-old man's tools were stolen when a burglar broke in to his mother-in-law's house on the 200 block of Mariposa Avenue.

4:15 p.m.—Christopher Thyne, 44, was arrested on a warrant on the 400 block of Madison Street.

5:45 p.m.—A cop saw Natalie Gonzalez, 26, driving a white Honda and recognized her from a prior traffic stop. She had a suspended driver's license so the officer pulled over Gonzalez and gave her a ticket.

8:15 p.m.—A woman used a counterfeit traveler's cheque at the Rite Aid on the 1900 block of Freedom Boulevard.

8:41 p.m.—A vandal threw a brick through a car window on the 500 block of Creek Drive.

Friday, Sept. 23

12:02 a.m.—Marshall Taylor, 41, was arrested for violating at restraining order. He was picked up on the 100 block of West Beach Street.

2:39 a.m.—A drunk driver was involved in a car accident in the 7-Eleven store parking lot on the 400 block of Airport Road. Joe Henry Ogg, 33, was arrested. Police said his blood-alcohol level was about 0.22.

2:58 a.m.—A 26-year-old man got beat up on the 200 block of Kimberly Lane. He was punched and kicked in the face and head, but was uncooperative with police.

2:57 p.m.—Edgar Omar Garcia, 30, was arrested for being on drugs and having a meth pipe on the 200 block of Main Street. He also allegedly violated his probation.

5:07 p.m.—Anthony Moore was arrested for a parole violation on the 100 block of East Beach Street.

7:10 p.m.—A 48-year-old woman reported that her ex daughter-in-law used her account number to buy items over the phone. The younger woman admitted the theft and offered to pay for the items, but the older woman wanted her arrested.

8:25 p.m.—Patrick Rodriguez, 25, was arrested on Green Valley Road and Quinn Avenue for violating his probation.

9:55 p.m.—Thomas Marquez, 36, was arrested for a parole violation on the 100 block of Lee Road.

10:09 p.m.—Alejandro Flores, 19, was picked up on a felony warrant while police were investigating a report of loitering in Peace Park, at Peace and Faith drives.

Thursday, Sept. 22

10:16 a.m.—A teenager was arrested for having gang writings. He was picked up on the 700 block of Lincoln Street.

10:49 a.m.—Joel Solorzano, 18, was arrested for violating his probation terms on the 200 block of East Beach Street.

4:37 p.m.—A burglar stole a Sony PS3 and a DVD player from a home on the 100 block of Broadis Street.

5:55 p.m.—Ismael Rodriguez, 18, was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by police on the 400 block of Rodriguez Street. Rodriguez gave police a fake name and allegedly had marijuana with him. He got a ticket.

9:28 p.m.—A car burglar smashed the front passenger window of a car on the 2000 block of Freedom Boulevard. A car stereo was stolen.
