Police Blotter: Molotov Cocktail Tossed at House

The following arrest information was supplied by the Watsonville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

It appears an arsonist is targeting a Rodriguez Street resident after back-to-back nights where Molotov cocktails sparked fires there, Watsonville police reported.

A flaming bottle was thrown at the window of the home at 639 Rodriguez St., around 1:10 a.m. Friday causing a small fire outside the house, according to authorities. The fire was outside the home.

People were home at the time. No arrests were made.

A day prior, around 2 a.m. a car parked in the same area also was hit with a Moltov cocktail. No one was in the car at the time.

11:14 a.m.—Gabriel Maez, 18, and another man stole beer from the Quick Stop on the 2100 block of Freedom Boulevard.

Thursday, Aug. 25

8:55 a.m.—Roberto Pena, 20, was arrested on seven counts of graffiti vandalism after police served a search warrant on the 100 block of Gardner Avenue.

9:37 a.m.—A car burglar ripped the convertible top on a car parked on the 1200 block of Lincoln Street and stole a car stereo, iPod and sunglasses.

12:37 p.m.—A vandal keyed a vehicle on the 200 block of Ford Street sometime in the past two days.

4:41 p.m.—Javier Guerrero, 22, resisted arrest and got a ticket. He was picked up on Freedom Bouelavard and Main Street.

4:45 p.m.—Brett Rodriguez, 20, was arrested on a warrant after he fled a fight on Eastern Drive and Southern Court.

Wednesday, Aug. 24

9:24 a.m.—Items were stolen from a property on the 1000 block of West Beach Street.

9:29 a.m.—The credit card number of a 67-year-old Watsonville woman was stolen and used to buy something online.

11:40 a.m.—Items were stolen from an unlocked car on the 100 block of Franich Drive.

1:26 p.m.—A 71-year-old Watsonville man's ID was stolen to get a credit card that was used in Chula Vista and Mexico.

2:58 p.m.—A Bay City Tow customer reported his car stereo had been stolen by a tow company employee. Police said it was a misunderstanding and got the stereo back.

3 p.m.—Iran Perez was arrested for a warrant and methamphetamine possession on the 400 block of Riverside Avenue.

3:50 p.m.—A thief tried to steal a bike rack from the back of the car and failed, but scratched the paint.

9:18 p.m.—Tito Ricardo Martinez, 32, was arrested at 230 Prospect St. for a parole hold.

11:23 p.m.—Joe Rodriguez, 40, was arrested on the 100 block of West Beach Street for violating his probation.

Wednesday, 6:30 p.m.—Felipe Angel Caballero was arrested on a warrant on the 100 block of Grant Street.

Tuesday, 11:30 p.m.—A thief stole two 30-packs of been from the Quick Stop at East Lake Avenue and Holohan Road.

Monday—License plates were taken from two cars Corralitos Road.
