Police Blotter: Prostitution, Stolen Stand-Up Paddleboard

Thieves also took copper wiring for the PG&E yard during the weekend and a teen stealing beer was caught.

A 27-year-old woman was trying to prostitute herself at Motel 6 on Friday night, Watsonville police reported.

The woman was arrested. Also, a 30-year-old man was arrested for a parole violation there, the 100 block of Silver Leaf Drive.

Watsonville police Sgt. Saul Gonzalez said there isn't a significant prostitution problem in the city.

"We don't get them a lot," he said, adding that Craigslist encounters are more likely than direct solicitation in Watsonville. He added: "I'm sure it happens."

Did the motel have a vacancy or was it an occupied vacancy?
