Police Blotter: Second Car Stolen This Week

Also, a burglar struck a home on East Beach Street.

A car thief got away in a 2006 Ford Taurus midday Wednesday, the second car stolen in Watsonville this week, police reported.

The blue sedan was stolen off Nona Avenue between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., police said.

Another parked, locked on the 1400 block of Main Street. Detectives said they don't think the two thefts are related.

Watsonville Police Log, Thursday, Sept. 13

11:04 p.m.—A 48-year-old man was arrested for a warrant on Martinelli and Madison streets.

Wednesday, Sept. 12

7:20 a.m.—A burglar smashed a window to break into a storage shed on the 300 block of East Beach Street. Stolen was a guitar and computer equipment. The burglar also tried to get into the adjacent house.

8:12 a.m.—A teenager was ticketed for having a small amount of marijuana and some tobacco paraphernalia on the 500 block of Palm Avenue.

8:24 a.m.—A 32-year-old man was arrested for having hypodermic needles and a parole violation on the 100 block of Main Street.

11:30 p.m.—A car was broken into on the 300 block of Bree Lane overnight. The car stereo was stolen.

1:11 p.m.—A 25-year-old man hid cosmetics inside an empty bag and left the story without paying. He ran from security but was stopped nearby. It happened on the 1700 block of Freedom Boulevard.

9:24 p.m.—A rear window was busted out of an apartment on the 100 block of Arista Court.
