Police Blotter: Shootings, Meth Use, and a Bike Fugitive

The following arrest information was supplied by the Watsonville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

On Thursday morning, a possibly gang-related shot was fired into a residence on Rodriguez Street. The rest of the stayed quieter, with a few arrests made for drug possession.

3 a.m.— An unknown suspect fired a single shotgun round through the front window of an occupied residence on the 100 block of Rodriguez street. The incident was possibly gang related.

3:45 p.m.— Officers attempted to stop Ruben Murillo, 34, as he fled on his bike at the corner of Shasta Street and Sonoma Street. Murillo was in possession of pepper spray and a used meth pipe. A parole hold was placed on him.

5:32 p.m.— David Murillo, 21, was arrested at the corner of S. Green Valley Road and Lawrence Ave. for having a concealed steak knife inside of his pants pocket. He also violated probation terms, and was transported to Santa Cruz County jail.

5:34 p.m. —Selma Lozana, 44, was arrested for being under the possession of methamphetamine after a disturbance on the 200 block of Anna Street.

11:44 p.m.— Israel Garibay, 28, was stopped for a bicycle violation at the 100 block of Lincoln Street. He was arrested for possession of a meth pipe and concealed illegal knife.
