Police Blotter: Shootings on Carey Ave., Altamont Dr.

Also, a machete-wielding man chased two teens across the Pajaro River.

Two shootings were reported in Watsonville on Friday but no one was hurt, police reported.

First, a gunman fired shots at a home and car on Carey Avenue just before dawn Friday, police said. The shooting was reported on the 200 block of the street at 5:06 a.m. Officers didn't find any leads, police reported.

Then, around 10:44 p.m., two shots were fired at an unoccupied vehicle on the 100 block of Altamont Street.

No one was hurt in either shooting and no arrests were made.

3:53 a.m.—A 37-year-old man was arrested for DUI on Green Valley Road and Freedom Boulevard.

Sunday, June 17

2:20 a.m.—A drunk man was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant on Main and East Front streets.

3:17 a.m.—A teenager was stopped for jaywalking on the 1400 block of Main Street, but had a felony warrant and was arrested.

8:06 a.m.—A car burglar broke into a vehicle on the the 1700 block of Freedom Boulevard and stole items.

9:14 a.m.—Two men were arrested on the 400 block of Winchester Drive. One was arrested on a felony warrant and also for having drugs and drug paraphernalia. The other was arrested for having drug paraphernalia and violating his probation.

5:07 p.m.—A man ordered a meal at La Guadalupe Market, then ate it and left without paying. It was captured on surveillance footage.

8:48 p.m.—A man was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant on the 200 block of Silver Leaf Drive.

9:17 p.m.—Police investigated a DUI on the 100 block of Riverside Drive.

11:50 p.m.—Police received several calls about men looking into cars with flashlights. Officers ticketed a teenager for possessing of burglary tools  on Bridge Street and Tuttle Avenue.

Saturday, June 16

10:11 a.m.—A car burglar broke into a vehicle on the 100 block of Holly Drive.

1:53 p.m.—A 32-year-old man was arrested for having stolen property during a search warrant service on Main Street and Riverside Drive. Sheriff's deputies also booked him for possessing a loaded gun and resisting arrest.

1:55 p.m.—A man brandishing a machete chased two 19-year-old men on the Pajaro River levee. The teens escaped by swimming across the river to Monterey County.

4:26 p.m.—A teenager was cited for a probation violation after he was caught with marijuana on Ross Avenue and Holly Drive.

4:42 p.m.—A 31-year-old man was ticketed for a warrant on the 200 block Ford Street.

5:21 p.m.—A man was arrested for petty theft after stealing $100 in power tools from Ace Hardware on the 400 block of Main Street.

Friday, June 15

12:10 p.m.—A woman said someone took her wrought iron bench from her front lawn, on the 800 block of Delaware Street.

1:50 p.m.—Two teenage boys were stopped for a city code violation on the 200 block of Bockius Street. One, who was on probation, also had a switchblade knife. He was ticketed.

5:12 p.m.—Three males ordered three bags of meat from Santa Fe Market on the 100 block of East Lake Avenue and ran out of the store without paying. A store employee saw them get into a vehicle and got the license plate number. A 16-year-old boy was contacted in the car and the meat was recovered.

5:39 p.m.—A couple sitting in a parked car on Ford Street near Kearney Street were searched because they're both on active probation. The officer found a loaded handgun and prescription pills in the vehicle.

5:41 p.m.—A 20-year-old man was ticketed for embezzlement on the 300 block of South Green Valley Road.

8:38 p.m.—Two teenager girls were arrested for vandalizing city property and giving fake names to the police on Brewington Avenue and Paloma Way. They got tickets and were sent home with their parents.

9:58 p.m.—A 25-year-old man was stopped for a probation compliance check on the 400 block of Rodriguez Street, and was cited for possessing drug paraphernalia and a probation violation.

10:34 p.m.—Four teenage boys were stopped for jaywalking on the 400 block of Rodriguez Street. Officers found illegal weapons and drugs on them. Also, one was on probation. They were arrested.
