Police Blotter: Soccer Ref Beat Up, Man Attacked Outside Fast Food Joint

The following arrest information was provided by the Watsonville Police Department and the Sheriff's Office. It does not indicate a conviction.

Watsonville Police Log, Wednesday, Nov. 16

12:38 a.m.—A car thief smashed the window on a car on the 600 block of Lincoln Street, got in and drove away. He was last seen driving north on Madison from Fifth Street.

1:03 a.m.—A man was punched, kicked and cut by two gang members as he left Taco Bell on Green Valley Road. The attack happened around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and was reported 90 minutes later.

Tuesday, Nov. 15

12:49 a.m.—A man and woman stole three 18-packs of Budweiser beer from the 7-Eleven on Airport Boulevard.

11:35 a.m.—David Brooke, 45, tried to trash a loaded syringe in a portable toilet on the 100 block of East Lake Avenue. He was arrested for having heroin, drug paraphernalia and a probation violation.

4:40 p.m.—Police rushed to the 200 block of Carey Avenue looking for a man with a gun. They didn't find him, but Rogelio Meza was arrested for violating his probation.

6:30 p.m.—An angry soccer player beat up a ref during halftime at a soccer game on the 100 block of Harkins Slough Road. The player fled before the cops got there.

Sheriff's Office Log, Tuesday, Nov. 15

8:30 a.m.—A Blake Avenue house was burglarized.

8:40 a.m.—A mother called deputies to check on her adult son because she thought he was doing methamphetamine and endangering his children, who live with him on the 100 block of Wiedl Drive. Derek Alex Montoya was arrested for child endangerment. Deputies said the house had sub-standard living conditions and the children were put into Child Protective Services custody.

Monday, Nov. 14

7:45 a.m.—Burglars ransacked a house on the 400 block of Amesti Road and stole items.

Saturday, Nov. 12

11:43 a.m.—Deputies went to a Corralitos apartment to investigate mail theft. Crystal Dawn Ross and Ronald Rene Ruiz were arrested for being high on drugs on the 100 block of Browns Valley Road.

3 p.m.—Four suspected gang members were driving around in a stolen car. They wer arrested.

7:20 p.m.—Isaac Avalos allegedly was drunk and making a scene during an event at the fairgrounds. He was arrested.

9:35 p.m.—Heriberto Nava Perez couldn't keep his car in his lane on Highway 1 at Buena Vista. The California Highway Patrol showed up and arrested him for DUI.

Friday, Nov. 11

7 a.m.—A pickup was broken into on Clifton Drive. The thief also took tools from the bed of the truck.

1:21 p.m.—Claudia Pacheco Quintana was arrested for being high on drugs and having drug paraphernalia on the 1200 block of Casserly Road.

3:38 p.m.—John Richard Boyanton was arrested on the 2100 block of Freedom Boulevard. Deputies said he was drunk and kicked at a deputy before he was restrained. Daniel Gonzalez Garcia also was arrested there for being drunk.

11:30 p.m.—A vehicle was broken into on Taylor Road.
