Police Blotter: Employees Fight Off Robbers in Pajaro

Also, Watsonville police found a stolen car and a vandal smashed a window at the Wooden Nickel.

Traffic heading into Pajaro came to a halt around 6:30 p.m. when workers at an auto body shop fending off would-be robbers, KION Central Coast News reported.

Watsonville police issued a urging motorists to avoid the area. Traffic backed up to Main Street and Riverside Drive in Watsonville, according to the police department.

KION reported that four robbers tried to hold up but were fought off by employees. The robbery turned into a melee, and sheriff's deputies responded to sort things out. Four people were arrested.

Watsonville Police Log, Thursday, May 31

12:08 a.m.—A 67-year-old man was ticketed for having drug paraphernalia on the levee near Walker Street.

8:25 a.m.—Two people were ticketed for trespassng on the 100 block of East Beach Street.

3:22 p.m.—A parolee was arrested on Freedom Boulevard and Crestview Drive for having a concealed dagger.

7 p.m.—A car was burglarized on the 100 block of Penny Lane. One of the stolen items was later found at a man's house.

7:46 p.m.—A 27-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were arrested for possessing burglary tools and stolen property on Airport and Freedom boulevards.

10:09 p.m.—A man was stopped for a bike violation on the 500 block of Main Street and arrested because he had 50 hydrocodone pills and was violating his probation.

10:12 p.m.—A man stole a case of beer from the Quick Stop market on Freedom Boulevard. There is video surveillance of the crime; detectives are investigating.

10:57 p.m.—A man dressed in black broke a window at the Wooden Nickel Bar and Grill on Freedom Boulevard.

Wednesday, May 30

11:35 a.m.—A vehicle reported stolen to the California Highway Patrol was found on Brewington Avenue and East Fifth Street.

9:41 p.m.—A 64-year-old man on probation was searched on Rodriguez and West Beach streets. He reportedly had methamphetamine, marijuana and other drugs. He ws arrested.

Sheriff's Office Log, Tuesday, May 29

4:45 p.m.—A man walked away from a care faciity he lived at and boarded a Metro bus to Santa Cruz. He told staff at the facility, on Wheelcok Road, that he was going to live in San Francisco. The man was reported missing, but is not conserved or court-placed in the facility, so he's considered a voluntary missing adult.
