Police Blotter: Teens Arrested with Loaded Gun; Liquor Store Robbed

Weekend reports from Watsonville police also include two school burglaries and alcohol-related arrests.

Watsonville police log, Saturday, Dec. 18

1:03 a.m.—Armando Saldana, 25, was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest on the 700 block of Palm Avenue.

2 a.m.—Aldo Ponce Gonzalez, 29, was pulled over on the 200 block of Maple Street and arrested for two warrants, driving while his license was suspended and giving a false name to police.

7:06 a.m.—Jewelry and money were reported missing from a house on the 700 block of Cynthia Court. The theft occurred during the past three months

12:05 p.m.—Edgar Garcia, 30, allegedly had methamphetamine with him and was arrested by police near 33 Walker St.

1:23 p.m.—Two teens were arrested for allegedly spray-painting a retaining wall on South Green Valley Road east of Lawrence Avenue.

6:17 p.m.—A robbery occurred on the 1400 block of Freedom Boulevard. Details were not released.

8:07 p.m.—Two men in their 20s were involved in a fight with three assailants. The two men, who are related, suffered minor injuries but wouldn't cooperate with police. The other fighters fled.

9:10 p.m.—Police responded to a "gun call" at an apartment complex on the 1200 block of Main Street. An officer stopped a car a block away and found a loaded handgun in the backseat. Two teenage gang members were arrested on suspicion of gang charges, gun possession, driving without a license and carrying a concealed, loaded firearm.

Sunday, Dec. 19

12:23 a.m.—Two robbers stole merchandise from East Lake Liquors, on the 900 block of East Lake Avenue. When an employee confronted them, one tried to punch him. The robbers got away.

1:03 a.m.—Two shoplifters stole a case of beer each from the Quick Stop market on the 2100 block of Freedom Boulevard.

1:10 a.m.—A holiday party attendee was punched by an unknown assailant after the party on Penny Lane. The victim was treated by paramedics. A suspect said he could identify the attacker, but no arrests have been made.

1:25 a.m.—Police stopped a car driving fast on Penny Lane with no headlights and arrested the driver, Nicholas Anderson, 21, on suspicion of driving under the influence. Two passengers were suspected of being drunk in public and were jailed.

2:01 a.m.—A suspected drunken driver crashed on Main Street near South Green Valley Road. Moises Corona Rodriguez, 31, was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

10:19 a.m.—Items were stolen from at least two unlocked vehicles parked on the 400 block of Marigold Avenue. The thefts occurred overnight.

3:44 p.m.—, on the 100 block of Herman Avenue, was burglarized.

11:54 p.m.—Three burglars shattered a window at , on the 200 block of Hammer Drive, and stole a computer.

(Police also handled another DUI investigations and arrested a woman suspected of being drunk in public.)

Monday, Dec. 20

2:49 a.m.—A vandal shattered the glass front door of Del Taco Restaurant on the 1400 block of Main Street. Nothing was taken.
