Police Blotter: Teens Arrested with Weapons, Stolen Car

Also, there were several break-ins and thefts in town last week.





Four teenagers were caught in a stolen car on Landis Avenue and Freedom Boulevard on Saturday night, Watsonville police reported.

The teens reportedly had weapons, including a switchblade, and burglary tools, police said. 

The teens were arrested on a long list of charges, including possessing a stolen vehicle, vehicle theft, gang participation, possessing burglary tools and weapons, and driving without a license.

The teens' names were withheld because they are minors.

Friday, July 26
Drug Sales: Officers stopped a 31-year-old man riding his bike at Main Street and Freedom Boulevard. He allegedly tried to hide methamphetamine in his mouth as was arrested for transporting drugs and destroying evidence. Another man with his was arrested for having an illegal wooden club.

Battery: A man and his brother got into a fight on the 100 block of Kenyon Avenue around 5:45 p.m. The brother has a restraining order against the man and the man was arrested.

Burglary: A home on the 100 block of Willow Way was burglarized.

Car Break-in: Vehicles were burglarized on the 100 block of Blanca Lane and the 100 block of Broadis Street overnight.

Theft: A teenager was arrested for stealing a GPS unit from an unlocked vehicle on Martinelli and Madison streets around 12:45 p.m. He also had a warrant.

Thursday, July 25
Grand Theft: Copper wire was stolen from the utility yard on the 800 block of Walker Street. It was reported at 9:40 a.m.

ID Theft: Someone stole the personal information of a Watsonville woman and her two daughters to get credit.

Drug possession: A probation check on the 600 block of Bronte Avenue led officers to drug paraphernalia, crystal methamphetamine and evidence of drug sales. A woman, age 43, was arrested.

Wednesday, July 24
Burglaries: A person broke into a home on Bronson Street on Tuesday but no items were taken. A burglar tried to break into a second home on the same street but was not successful.

Minor in Possession of Alcohol: Two teens were arrested for having alcohol and marijuana when officers stopped a car for a vehicle code violation on Main and West Fifth streets around 9:45 p.m.

Tuesday, July 23
Petty Theft: A man shoplifted items from Kmart by hiding items in his pants just after 1 p.m.

Warrants: A man was arrested at his Vista Montana Drive home for five warrants, including giving cops another person's name.

Drug Possession: A man pulled over for a vehicle code violation on Lincoln and Elm streets around 10:20 p.m. was cited for having 8.8 grams of marijuana.
