Police Blotter: Theft, Public Intoxication and a Shooting Over the Weekend

The following arrest information was provided by the Watsonville Police Department and the county Gang Task Force. It does not indicate a conviction.

Watsonville Police Department Press Log, Friday Dec. 30 2011:

8:29 a.m.—A 46-year-old man was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance on the 100 block of 2nd St. The suspect was also violating probation. He was transported to Santa Cruz County jail for housing.

9:42 a.m.—An 87-year-old man was arrested on the 600 block of Main Street for urinating in public.

5:54 p.m.—An unknown suspect entered a home and took various items on the 500 block of Main Street. The case was closed due to a lack of investigative leads.

6:30 p.m.—Unknown suspect(s) took a wallet belonging to a 28-year-old female from an unlocked vehicled while it was parked on the 300 block of Manor Avenue.

7:19 p.m.—An unknown suspect broke into a locked vehicle on the 800 block of Ohlone Parkway and took several items. The case was closed due to lack of investigative leads.

7:27 p.m.—A 31-year-old man was arrested for possession of Heroin and drug paraphernalia after police contacted him at his residence on the 200 block of Silver Leaf Drive. The suspect also had a felony warran out for his arrest and was taken to Couny Jail for housing.

7:59 p.m.—An unknown suspect broke into a vehicle parked at Elmn and Lincoln Streets and took a portable GPS. The case was closed due to lack of leads.

10:29 p.m.—A 31-year-old man was contacted for being intoxicated and unable to take care of himself in public. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail for public intoxication. The incident occured at Freedom and Airport Boulevards.

10:34 p.m.—A 30-year-old man was taken into custody for public intoxication on the 500 block of Rogge Street.

Saturday, Dec. 31:

1:55 a.m.—A man was arrested for public intoxication at Airport Boulevard and Loma Prieta Avenue. He was later transported to County Jail.

11:43 a.m.—Unknown suspect(s) shattered a business window on the 1900 block of Freedom Boulevard with a 3 inch rock. The case was closed due to lack of leads.

12:38 p.m.—A 23-year-old female was arrested on the 700 block of Bronte Avenue for possession of Heroin. The suspect had .1 grams.

4:30 p.m.—Unknown suspect(s) broke in to a locked vehicle on the 100 block of Riverside Drive and stole a Gucci purse. The case was closed due to lack of leads.

6:44 p.m.—A 25-year-old man was arrested after being found in possession of a controlled substance on the 100 block of Jefferson Street. He was transported to Santa Cruz County Jail.

11:57 p.m.—A 24-year-old man was shot in the torso outside of a party on the 100 block of Southern Circle. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle and investigation continues. The victim is in critical but stable condition. Read the full story .

Sunday, Jan. 1:

1:26 a.m.—A man reported being attacked by four teenage males on the 1300 block of Main Street. The victim said that he was kicked and punched multiple times on his head and body.

3:17 a.m.—A 23-year-old man was arrested for being drunk in public on the 100 block of Honeysuckle Drive. The suspect was contacted during a family disturbance.

11:25 a.m.—A 17-year-old male was arrested for probation violation and booked into juvenile hall without incident. He arrested on the 600 block of Tuttle Avenue.

4:04 p.m.—An unknown suspect broke into a residential home on the 200 block of Martinelli Street and took several items. No witnesses were found.

5:18 p.m.—A 46-year-old man was found sleeping on a bench on the 100 block of Nielson and arrested for being drunk in public. He was transported to county jail.

5:20 p.m.—A female suspect wa arrested for shoplifting at Target on the 1400 block of Main Street. She was cited and released on scene, and issued a court date.

7:06 p.m.—A 25-year-old man was arrested for DUI and for being unlicensed. The suspect's Blood Alcohol Content was 0.14/0.15. The incident occured on Freedom Boulevard and Crestview Drive.

7:41 p.m.—A 32-year-old man reported that he was assaulted by an unknown suspect in the area of Waters Alley. He suffered facial injuries. No suspects have been found and the case has been closed due to lack of leads.

Monday, January 2:

1:04 a.m.—An 18-year-old male was arrested for DUI and driving on a suspended license. The incident occured on Lincoln Street and Alvarado Street and he was taken to County Jail.
