Police Blotter: Thefts and Burglary

The following arrest information was supplied by the Sheriff's Office and the Watsonville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Sheriff's Log, Wednesday, Sept. 14

9 a.m.—Isaac Saavedra was arrested on the 200 block of Clifford Avenue for violation his own recognizance release.

5:25 p.m.—A car parked on the 1400 block of San Andreas Road was burglarized and items worth about $650 were taken. The broken car window will cost about $150 to repair.

6:44 p.m.—Romero Martinez Ortiz started a small fire on a the creekbank near Lakeview Road. A passerby reported it. When deputies arrived, they found Ortiz had a knife on him. They arrested him and, as Ortiz was being booked at jail, correctional officers discovered he also had drug paraphernalia.

12:17 a.m.—A 14-year-old was identified as one of three burglars who broke into a home and stole items.

2:26 p.m.—Angel Montecinos Mendoza, 32, was arrested on the 700 block of Washington Street for having methamphetamine and being on drugs. He got a ticket.

4:20 p.m.—A 20-year-old woman was scammed. She wired $250 to rent an apartment but there was no further contact after she sent the money.

4:24 p.m.—Two teens shoplifted from a store on the 1400 block of Main Street by stashing items in their backpacks.

5:01 p.m.—Police came across a wanted teen at the Metro station. The teen ran, but officers caught up to him a short time later and arrested him.

6:11 p.m.—A man on the 200 block of Anna Street reported his ex-wife violated a restraining order by emailing and texting him. He wanted to file charges and she admitted the violation.

9:43 p.m.—Gerardo Antonio Medina was arrested on West Beach Street west of Rodriguez Street for possessing drug paraphernalia.

10:01 p.m.—Jario O. Martinez, 36, was pulled over on Pennsylvania Drive and Main Street and got a ticket for a warrant.
