Police Blotter: Three Hurt in Hwy. 129 Crash

In Watsonville, someone stole the front end of a classic truck.

Three people were hospitalized in critical condition Wednesday after a two-car crash in Santa Cruz County, Cal Fire officials said.

Cal Fire responded to the site of the collision at around 6 p.m. on state Highway 129, east of Rogge Lane in Aromas, officials said.         

One victim was airlifted to a trauma center, while the other two were taken to a hospital by ambulance.

Aromas Tri County Fire Protection District and Pajaro Valley Fire Protection District assisted at the scene, officials said.

9:44 a.m.—Someone stole the front end of a 1966 Chevy pickup parked at West Fifth and West Walker streets. The thief was injured and bled on the vehicle, so police collected blood evidence.

9:47 a.m.—German Cortez, 24, turned himself in for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

2:12 p.m.—Manuel Murillo, 40, Ruben Murillo, 34, were caught allegedly smoking marijuana in the walkway south of West Beach Street. They were cited.

2:27 p.m.—Yolanda Espinoza, 32, was arrested on the 100 block of Lawrence Avenue on two felony warrants.

4:49 p.m.—Ernesto Mendoza was arrested on two felony warrants. He was caught during a traffic stop near Lincoln and Prospect avenues.

10:34 p.m.—Xochilt Lulet-Tellez was arrested on suspicion of DUI on the 100 block of West Lake Avenue.

11:02 p.m.—Gabriel Salazar, 35, was arrested on suspicion of drug use on the 100 block of West Beach Street. Jesus Rivas, 24, was arrested on the same charge in the same location 45 minutes later.

Thursday, March 31

12:34 a.m.—Someone stole beer from the 7-Eleven on the 200 block of East Lake Avenue.
