Police Blotter: Two More Armed Robbery Attempts

And in a weird case, a man stole several birds from someone's backyard.

Two men told police robbers attacked them in separate incidents in Watsonville on Sunday night.

The muggings happened a day after occurred in a 30-minute period. Police said it's unclear if the Saturday night incidents are tied to what occurred Sunday night. No arrests have been made.

On Sunday, a 25-year-old man was robbed in front of 1150 Main St. around 9:26 p.m. He told police that two Latino men wearing dark hooded sweatshirts and dark pants accosted him. One struck him with an aluminum baseball bat; the other pulled a knife, according to .

The robbers stole items from the man and fled on foot.

Then, about 20 minutes later, two robbers followed a 31-year-old man from a bank and confronted him with weapons, police said. The altercation happened on the 200 block of Camellia Court, which is behind off Freedom Boulevard.

The man fled, but not before one of the would-be robbers shattered a window on his car.

It's unclear if the two robberies are related.

Watsonville police log, Sunday, Feb. 21

7:47 a.m.—A man stole several birds from the backyard of a home on the 100 block of Sunrise Avenue. The theft occurred in the early morning hours. The birds were worth more than $250.

2:53 p.m.-Lacey Brianna Dent, 21, turned herself in at the police station for a warrant.

4;24 p.m.—Gabriel Aaron Chavez, 24, was arrested on two warrants on the 400 block of Rodriguez Street and booked into jail.

7:30 p.m.—A patient was arrested on a warrant. Police were called to the hospital after Christopher Blair, 52, allegedly caused a disturbance. He was treated and released before being taken to County Jail.

7:39 p.m.—Two vandals broke a window at 123 Rodriguez St.

10:50 p.m.—Police were called to a house on the 100 block of Airport Boulevard after a man got upset about splitting up with his girlfriend and reportedly broke two vases and two photo frames, and damaged a dresser.
