No one was injured in the shooting.

The gun used in the shooting was found Thursday, when detectives and scoured the thick brush where the youngest of the teens, a 14-year-old, tried to elude officers on Monday, Watsonville police reported.

The small-caliber pistol found in the bushes is the same caliber as a shell casing found near the scene of the shooting on Clifford Avenue and Hammer Drive, police said. The shell casing and firearm will be sent to the Department of Justice for further tests.

Ernesto Murillo, 19, Murino Zarate, 18, and the underage boy were arrested. The 14-year-old was released to his parents; Murillo and Zarate were booked into County Jail, according to police.

Searches of the teens' homes turned up gang-related items, and detectives reported that the shooting was gang-motivated. However, what they were firing at remains unclear, police said.

FYI, gang-related items doesn't mean guns and drugs--it can be a red or blue T-shirt or hat. It's a broad category.
