What started out as a private controlled burn in Prunedale spun out of control on Friday.
Watsonville Patch initially told you about the fire just an hour after it broke out, when it had spread to a full acre of eucalyptus.
But by 4 p.m., it had doubled in size to two acres and was finally put out. In all, it took about five hours to contain the flames. No one was injured at the Maher Road blaze.
