Sandoval Investigation Held Up By Evidence Processing

Sheriff's Office will make a recommendation on charges, not 'pass the buck,' once the probe concludes.

It will be at least a week before the investigation of allegations Pablo Sandoval sexually assaulted a 21-year-old local woman is concluded, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office reported Friday.

"Most of the case is wrapped up," deputy April Skalland said.

Skalland said that once the probe is complete, the Sheriff's Office will make a recommendation to the District Attorney's Office about what, if any, charges should be filed.

"We're not going to pass the buck," she said.

occurred at Seascape Beach Resort in Aptos during the early-morning hours on June 1. Before that, Sandoval was seen posing for photos with fans at Motiv, a bar on Pacific Avenue in Santa Cruz.

Skalland said sheriff's detectives are still waiting on evidence. She declined to say what that was, but did say it was not one single piece of evidence.

"There's all different types of evidence," Skalland said. "It takes time to process."

Sandoval is an All-Star third baseman for the Giants. He has been recovering from a hand injury and is expected to return to the starting lineup later this month.

I used my yes on T flier to line the birdcage. It pissed my parrot off so much, he bit me!

We got one too sweetcakes (some caring person actually tucked it into my door handle so it wouldn'tRead More blow away) even though I have a "No on T" sign in my yard. The "Yes on T" is all lies anyway so it went right into my recycle bin. Perhaps it was just coincidence but they came while we were at the City Council meeting last night. Go figure.
