Sheriff's Office Investigating Burglary at Prunedale Wells Fargo

The break-in occurred early Christmas morning in unincorporated Prunedale.

Monterey County sheriff's deputies are investigating a break-in at a bank in unincorporated Prunedale on Christmas Day.

The break-in occurred early in the morning during the holiday, when an unknown number of suspects entered the vault of the Wells Fargo, at the Safeway at 17539 Vierra Canyon Road, the sheriff's office said.

Deputies responded to a bank alarm, which was set off at the time of the burglary, but could not get into the vault room to confirm it had been burglarized, according to the sheriff's office.
