Shopper Robbed at Knife Point

The daytime crime happened near downtown Sunday.

A man shopping at the Discount Mall was robbed at knife point on Sunday afternoon, Watsonville police reported.

The crime was reported around 3:10 p.m. The man told officers he had been shopping at the indoor market, at 347 Rodriguez St., when one robber walked up to him, started a casual conversation, then pulled out a knife, police reported.

A second robber approached and the two forced the man out of the store onto East Beach and Rodriguez streets. The robbers told the man to give them all his money, which he did for fear of being stabbed, police said.
