Shots Fired at Cars Parked Near Bakery

No one was injured in the Thursday night shooting.

A gunman opened fire in front of a Watsonville bakery Thursday night but no one was struck with the barrage of gunfire, police reported.

The shooting was reported around 8:45 p.m. at La Rosa Bakery near Second and Menker streets, police said. The gunfire apparently was aimed at several parked, unoccupied vehicles in front of the bakery on Menker.

Workers inside the bakery at the time called 9-1-1 when the gunshots rang out. They were not hurt, police reported.

No suspects have been identified. Detectives ask that anyone with information about the shooting call the Investigations Bureau at 768-3350 or the Crime Tip line at 768-3544.
