Teen Driver Arrested After DUI Crash

The 18-year-old and his passenger, 19, both suffered serious injuries in the Amesti Road wreck.

Two Watsonville teens were badly hurt when their car veered off Amesti Road on Wednesday night, hitting two trees and a power pole, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Nestro Orozco, 18, allegedly was drunk when he was behind the wheel of the 1994 Honda Accord heading north on Amesti past Green Valley Road. He lost control of the car, and the car collided with the trees and pole, the CHP reported.

Orozco and his passenger, Raul Pitino, 19, were able to get out of the vehicle. Both teens were taken to Dominican Hospital. The CHP described their injuries as "major."
