Two Men Stabbed in 4-Hour Span

One attack was a robbery gone bad; the second was a fight at an apartment.

A 18-year-old man and a 37-year-old man were stabbed in separate attacks in Watsonville overnight, police reported Monday morning.

The violence started around 9:45 p.m. when the older man was walking on Second Street and two robbers accosted him, according to police. The man gave the robbers all the money he had on him. When they pulled a knife on him he tried to run, police said.

The robbers caught up to him at Menker Street and one stabbed him several times, police said.

The robbers fled. Police found the victim laying in the street and he was flown to a trauma center for treatment.

Four hours later, an 18-year-old man visiting an apartment at 160 Blackburn St. got into an argument with one of residents that ended in violence, police reported.

The teenager said the resident he was fighting with came back with two friends and they allegedly stabbed him in the upper torso and right arm, police said. The attack happened in front of the complex.

The teenager also was flown to a trauma center to be treated.

Both men's names was released by police but Watsonville Patch is not reporting them because they were victims of crime.

No arrests were made in either attack. Police ask anyone with information about the violence call the Investigations Bureau at 768-3350 or the Crime Tip Line at 768-3544.
