Watsonville Homicides 2013
- Feb. 28: Felipe Reyes, 20, was chased down, beaten and stabbed a parking lot at Alvarado Street, between Lincoln Street and Freedom Boulevard. He died in the doorway of Watsonville Upholstery.
- Feb. 15: Marco Ortega, 18, was shot outside Watsonville High School on a Friday night. Police said he was associated with a local gang but at the time of his death, was attending a Pajaro Valley High School girls' soccer game.
- Jan. 18: Marco Topete, who had just turned 18, was shot and killed on Second Street near Walker Street.
There were four homicides in South County in 2012 and eight homicides in the Watsonville area in 2011
