Watsonville Man Arrested for Assaulting a Teenager and Stealing His Bike

Police reunited the teenager with his bike.

A man was arrested for assaulting a teenager and stealing his bicycle in Watsonville Friday, police said.

The 16-year-old boy was riding in the area of Union Street and East Front Street at around 6:30 p.m. when a man approached him and demanded his bicycle, police said. When the victim refused, the man struck him on the head with a blunt object, knocking him to the ground. The suspect took the bicycle and rode away.

The victim called police, who followed up on the information he provided and found a suspect at a residence on Lincoln Street. The victim identified that person as the man who took his bicycle, and officers found the bicycle and returned it to the victim.

The suspect, a 29-year-old male from Watsonville, was arrested for robbery and a probation violation.
