Watsonville Man, Cheerleading Coach Suspected of Having Sex With Teens

Gregory Uvalles has been a volunteer coach at Monterey High School; he was arrested Monday.





A volunteer cheerleading coach at Monterey High School has been arrested on suspicion of having unlawful intercourse with unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and distributing harmful matter to a minor, several media agencies have reported.

Gregory Uvalles, a 22-year-old Watsonville man, was booked into Monterey County Jail on Tuesday, according to KSBW.


Allegations about his suspected sexual misconduct surfaced earlier in the day, the Monterey Weekly reported.

Monterey Police say they've found three alleged victims so far. At least one attended Monterey High.

Uvalles' bail was set at $200,000, KION reported.

A Facebook page for a Gregory Uvalles living in Watsonville includes photos of a man who looks like the arrestee pictured in a Monterey County Sheriff's Office booking photo posted to KSBW's website and photos of the Monterey High School cheer squad. The Facebook page says Uvalles attended Pajaro Valley High School and Cabrillo College.
