Watsonville Men Caught Tagging, Flee to CHP Office

The pair were arrested early Sunday following an incident in Aptos.

Two Watsonville men ran into a whole lot of trouble early Sunday morning when they pulled off the road near the California Highway Patrol office in Aptos, the CHP reported.

One was pulled over for a traffic violation around 2:45 a.m. Sunday while the second was allegedly caught tagging a utility box nearby, the CHP reported.

The vandal ran away, toward the parking lot of the nearby CHP office. He was stunned with a Taser and arrested, the CHP reported.

The officers put together what had happened and they put out a be-on-the-lookout alert for the car that had been pulled over. Watsonville police found the Cadillac in a parking lot on the 1700 block of Freedom Boulevard in Watsonville, the CHP reported.

Eric Benjamin Vasquez, 18, was arrested at the CHP office on suspicion of possessing vandalism tools. Oscar Bejar, 22, was arrested in Watsonville on the same charge, the CHP reported.
