Watsonville Police Seeking Suspects Involved in Shooting

By Bay City News Service:

Two suspects remain at large after shooting at a car in Watsonville on Thursday morning, police said.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of Sixth Street at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

When officers arrived, they contacted several witnesses to the shooting and learned that two suspects driving in a black Honda sedan approached two victims parked in a gray sedan in a parking lot of a nearby apartment complex, police said.

Police said the suspects asked the victims if they were part of a gang and one of the suspects pointed a gun at them. As the victims drove off, the suspect fired multiple shots at the car.

The suspects then fled the scene, police said. Neither the victims nor the suspects were found. No one was believed to have been hit by the gunfire, according to police.

A stray bullet went into an apartment but no one inside was injured. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Watsonville police at (831) 728-3544 or (831) 768-3352.
