Adolescents Tied Up, Robbed at Gunpoint

The break-in happened at a Watsonville home around 1 p.m. Friday.

Two brothers were tied up and robbed at gunpoint in a home-invasion robbery Friday afternoon, Watsonville police reported.

The brazen daytime break-in happened around 1 p.m. at a home near Carey and Davis avenues, police said.

The boys, ages 12 and 14, were home when two robbers forced their way into the home, held a gun on the boys and tied them up. The robbers stole items and fled, police said.

One of the brothers was able to free himself. He went for help, then waited outside to flag down the first officer at the scene. A neighbor came over and cut the other boy free, police said.

Neither boy was injured during the robbery. The search for the suspects, described as being in their late teens or early 20s, is ongoing, police said.
