A new Patch blogger is conducting a survey about needle exchange programs; fill it out and share your opinions here.
How do you feel about needle exchange programs?
Ethan Bearman, a new Patch blogger, is trying to find out just that. He's set up an unofficial survey (aimed at Santa Cruz County residents), and he hopes that the results will be useful in public discussions about the topic.
When we posted his survey on our Patch Facebook pages Tuesday, one reader was immediately critical.
"Stop enabling intravenous drug users," said Rob Bennett on Watsonville Patch Facebook.
Another reader encouraged people to complete the survey.
"Everyone needs to do this," said Shirley Christmore Stroh on Santa Cruz Patch Facebook. "No needle exchange needed, just drug treatment! Enabling drug dealers to get rich and keeping druggies addicted!"
