City Council Gets Back to Business

The first council meeting in weeks is Tuesday; there are contracts to approve and a report on the Homeless Shelter Program.

The Watsonville City Council returns to action Tuesday night following a summer break and has a lengthy agenda to tackle.

The council is expected to approve several contracts for road projects, traffic studies and work at the Wastewater Treatment Facility. It also will congratulate a boys' soccer team that won first place at the National Cup in Illinois earlier this summer.

Although no action is planned, the council will hear a report on the status of the area's Homeless Shelter Project. about resources for the homeless as summer draws to a close and the high season of agricultural employment ends. Compounding the problem is the .
